Vice Presidential Debate

Bernie was unelectable at the national level. The US is way, way too conservative for the likes of him. Drive 400 miles inland from either Coast, and you'll get nothing but Limbaugh in your car radio. I've done it, and was unpleasantly surprised.

When the will of the majority of voters is overridden by the powerful few, that is sometime referred to as a tyranny. Maybe it goes back to a philisophical question of is fairness of process more/less important than desirability of outcome?

Bernie was up in the polls and delegate count before Super Tuesday, and was far outfundraising (with non-corporate money) every other candidate except Michael Bloomberg and Biden. So he definitely was electable. Not only that, he was leading among people of color, whom the DNC decided in two elections now, don't deserve a voice. We're left with a choice between a person who obvioulsy hates us and a man who just pretends to like us.
How convenient, for you, to leave out the prescient calculation that the Republicans and their vicious and corrupt leader would of eaten Bernie and the Democrat's ticket for being a Socialist cum Communist. Leaving aside for now that the Angry Inch is and was a one-trick pony. Democrats have a big umbrella and are not obligated to drive off the cliff or into the ditch for the mesmerized Bernie crowd.

"Mesmerized Bernie crowd,' is that what you call Latino voters and people like my representative Congressman Jesús “Chuy García (IL-04) who campaigned for him? Thanks for denigrating us for exercising our right to vote. With allies like you, who needs the GOP?

Besides, the Trump campaign has already been calling Biden a Socialist and a Marxist, so the label was going to be there no matter what.

"'I would say that any lack of enthusiasm for Biden is due both to early investment from the Trump campaign to raise its standing among Latinos and to a lack of investment in Latinos from the Biden campaign,' Sindy Benavides, the chief executive officer of the League of United Latin American Citizens, told me."

did you forget that all the polls had hillary winning too in 2016?
On October 10, 2020 (not a poll) Republican campaign strategist Ed Rollins, who is the chair of the pro-Donald Trump Great America PAC, told John Avlon: “I’m afraid the race is over.”

Try to keep up, it's 2020 and Trump has been outed and shamed repeatedly, Hillary is not on the ballot, over 200,000 Americans have died while Trump hid the virus from Americans and then called it a hoax.

Such tender feet. It would be encouraging if the Bernie crowd would get over themselves, at least for now, and focus on driving Trump and all Republicans out of government. Or will there be some voting for a dictator?
Here's an honest question about Latinos, why does one get the impression they, some, are Trump supporters? Admiration for authoritarians? Anti-abortion politics? Something inherently right wing amongst Latinos? After Latin babies in cages and separated from families, disparaged and ridiculed repeatedly? I don't get it.

The Latinos I know personally who are Trump supporters (quite a few) always cite fear of socialism as their primary reasoning.

A lot of them are small business owners. They also have more experience with socialism then the folks from the US that have never experienced it first hand but, for some reason, seem to think it will solve of of America's problems.
