Because of this incidents, there are strong rumors saying that Anibal Fernandez ( Chief of Cabinet ) and Alak will be replaced.

Until Anibal Fernandez at least trims his mustache so it doesn't fall into his mouth as he is talking, I will never be able to watch him speaking without cringing at the thought of all the food that must get caught in that thing.

At this point I don't think this is just a city issue. I think the national govt needs to step in. In other countries in the capital city there would not be such lack of involvement by the national governemnt.

Well, here the federal government needs:
1) To declare siege state or
2) the major has to ask for help

This city is more like a State like Corrientes or La Rioja.

I dont think you can throw a newly formed force right into the muck of it before they've really been able to establish any authority. Right now they're kind of a clown police force, and I just hope that they can improve that image, otherwise they might as well abandon the idea of a Metrolpolitan force.
.

Well, gendarmeria send gun less commandos to deal with riots. But they are pro not Pro .

It's become thug culture down there now. An excuse for the mindless minority to incite violence and confrontation.
It reminds me of the London riots of the 80's. I remember watching that from my appt.
Dangerous!
And it's about time someone in the govt took control. It's beyond politics now.

Censo taking place now -- at the moment there are conflicting reports as to whether there are 5000 FAMILIES or 5000 INDIVIDUALS -- could make for an enormous difference. On Sunday the number was 1500 -- but the gendarmeria hadn't sealed off the park -- so I can only guess there was a lot of movement into the park before the gendarmeria finally had the bright idea to seal it before the censo took place.

Official numbers to be reported around noon today.

Over on C5N they are running a side story on another predio tomado -- although this one was already semi-tomado, so it's more a case of the neighbours taking advantage of the uproar over Soldati to get their greivances heard. The mostly abandoned Club Albanil(?) has had it's futbol cancha divied up and people are camping out there. The point I guess that is being made by C5N is there's a lot of clubs and a lot of canchas out there to be taken over. As I say, this club was already mostly taken -- just the cancha was clear -- viviendas had already been built over most of the premises.
