I agree its a splurge. 99.9% people will survive well without this splurge of money.

I personally have a Blentec which works great with the large heavy transformer - It sounds a bit louder than when the motor runs on a 110 - but it still perform fine.

you can change the input voltage with a transformer but not the frequency and henceforth the performance will never be the same. the blender will work but efficiency and out put will not be 100%.

and unless you are a frequent flier to USA, any problems with the blender, you will have to wait till u fly back.
