Seems to be a lot of talk about Bajo's skills as a lawyer, do we have evidence that he is disreputable or bad at his job? I think it is unfounded and we should stick to calling him out for being an awful poster and not lower ourselves to personal attacks on his profession. Unless of course there is evidence to the contrary showing him to be a "shyster".

My experience with lawyers dictates that if they cannot handle themselves in a forum you surely do not want them handling your needs in a court room. Then again when I have used lawyers they are just puppets a mouthpiece as Wineguy999 said. So typically I do my own legal research and lay out my own strategy and let them speak for me as they have the union card in the shysters club.

All that said I have met some pretty cool lawyers in Argentina to be honest not all but a few with both brains and morals.

So are posts not enough evidence? Well when you have skin in the legal game well I think you know what I mean.

I wasn't using it. To be fair no one did, I was trying to make a point.

This is anecdotal, but... I have met two of his former clients, independently, and they do not know each other. Both have said that, while he was effective, his treatment of them was very bad. They both made almost identical statements - they were treated like a nuisance, calls went unanswered, and were subjected to mild verbal abuse when they did speak to him.

I haven't been on the board as long as many of the posters, but I don't recall seeing "... a lot of talk about Bajo's skills as a lawyer ..." In fact I know there have been a few posts saying that he was good at what he does, except for non-existent interpersonal skills. Calling any lawyer a shyster in jest pretty much goes with the territory and I'm sure I've never heard any questions regarding his integrity as a lawyer.

So why do you think it's "a lot" of talk? I certainly might have missed something.

I like to think that the Doktor's ability as a lawyer and his performance in this place are two entirely different things.
I've never been on the receiving end of his legal services, but if he's inflicted with a Basil Fawlty attitude to his clients, that, I would like to witness.
Calling on Basil's repertoire is something I value and indeed I do from time to time in my shop, especially when the customer thinks he's right and I don't happen to agree. They love that.

There was a whole thread about it. It's the only time I recall a thread being started about whether one forum member is good at their job, or competent, I don't remember the nature entirely as the thread was removed.

I don't like the vast majority of Pensador's comments, lot more sports stadium chanting than substantive opinions. Frankly a distraction.

It shouldn't be hard to disagree with someone, and even mock his eminently mockable opinions, without stooping to this crap.

But it's not at all difficult to carry on intelligent discourse. Some people simply refuse to, and in fact go far to the extreme in avoiding the "intelligent" part.

The Doktor has spewed so much childish ridicule and disrespect for others here that he has brought ridicule upon himself. I, for one, was/am sick of his nonsense.
