Welcome To The Dictatorship Of Happiness

From the Perfil article cited by Dennisr (trans. mine):

"We stop doing the Resistance Marches when the enemy is no longer in the Government House. Néstor was our friend, therefore we stopped. But now that the enemy has returned we march on Friday the 11th. When he comes to the Government House, there we are, the people marching, repudiating his presence and theirs", Bonafini said.

According to [prosecution attorney Guillermo] Fanego, "the only way to understand this phrase is in a context of incitement calling groups to rebel that should leave the government in the coming days, and who have been making declarations that are clearly aimed at overthrow"

Bonafini is repulsive, but if people are going to be thrown in jail for organising protests, it's going to be a brutal 4+ years.

Shes not protesting about a government policy shes inciting unrest against a democratically and fairly elected president/government . Dont know if she should go to jail but shes a stirrer and should learn to respect the democratic system she lives in. In fact she should be grateful she doesnt live in Syria etc.

Indeed, interesting that someone who's lived through what she has doesn't have more respect for democracy in action.

A few weeks ago at a drinks party , i was told that Bonafinis missing relative is actually alive and well and living in Paris.

Surely this cant be true....

But this is Argentina, I suppose

As I understand it, she lost two sons and a daughter (possibly daughter-in-law).

I doubt it, it was a common claim by the dictatorship to claim that the missing had "run" away and were in other countries when in reality they had killed and tortured them.

[sub]HMMM let´s see: [/sub]

[sub]1)Cristina issued over 400 DNU decrees during her stay.[/sub]

2) Article 99 of our Constitucion allow for that, but they have to approved by Congress later on.

3) One of those judges was a former minister of Nestor K!!, the other a member of the Radical Party

I agree with EdRooney - I can't see that Bonafini did anything that the caserolazos weren't doing against Cristina, although I do indeed believe that the people Bonafini would incite to demonstrate may not have as much restraint as the caserolazos. If, however, there is indeed a riot of some sort where people and/or property get hurt as a result of Bonafinis call to roust against the "enemy", i could understand the possibility of charges.

If Macri himself supports tactics like this, in a democracy, that's a big down-tick for me. I wonder if Macri's OK with what Stornelli did?

Bonafini's organization just got hit with a judgement the other day, to pay off something like 33 million pesos (working from memory - I don't remember what the situation was). Why don't they work on legal means to get rid of corruption through the courts instead of trying to throw the old woman in jail because she thinks Macri is the enemy. Too many in Argentina think that already.
