Welcome To The Dictatorship Of Happiness

Gee we got rid of a Dictadora and set in power another Dictador...? Hope this Dicator doesn't exceed the Thousands of DNU of the predecessor B) The Last Official Gazette issue from CFK had 29 pages of DNU

...i didn't have room for serious critism.

Declaring "...As I predicted, the President is a dictator." is not serious criticism. Its not even criticism, its just reactionary statements designed to grab attention.

We have to wait and see but this looks very scary.

If you'd started with that I (and most everyone on here) would agree with you. Not scary by any stretch of the imagination but warrants watching. No one is under the illusion that Macri is an angel. However, too early to declare "yup, it's decided, he's a dictator!!". CFK went berserk her last 4 years. Judging Macri in 4 days to be like her or worse than her is not only not an objective critique but willful misrepresentation. Especially since he's done nothing illegal.

Too lazy to look up the link, but seems that Macri's reasoning behind the Supreme Court appointment decrees lies with this: it takes three out of five for a decision. With only three left on the court, all decisions would have to be unanimous. So for the court to function at all till Congress comes back, so goes the argument, it was necessary and urgent. Also it seems that the appointed judges' reputations are qualified and non-partisan.

I'm not defending the actions because I don't know enough about the Constitution to begin to parse out what could/should happen. If these things are true, though, it at least makes the actions understandable, and not a power grab per se.

Also, it is a situation that didn't come out of the blue: the last judge (Fayt) resigned from the Supreme Court with 3 month notice, so I wonder why they didn't try to fill the position before?

Guys, come on....

Macri bad Cristina good!

Don't try to logically work out why he did this horrible dictatorship style action!!!!!

Interesting:
Bonafini charged for inciting mob violence
http://www.perfil.com/politica/Imputaron-a-Hebe-de-Bonafini-por-incitacion-a-la-violencia-colectiva-20151216-0033.html

From the Perfil article cited by Dennisr (trans. mine):

"We stop doing the Resistance Marches when the enemy is no longer in the Government House. Néstor was our friend, therefore we stopped. But now that the enemy has returned we march on Friday the 11th. When he comes to the Government House, there we are, the people marching, repudiating his presence and theirs", Bonafini said.

According to [prosecution attorney Guillermo] Fanego, "the only way to understand this phrase is in a context of incitement calling groups to rebel that should leave the government in the coming days, and who have been making declarations that are clearly aimed at overthrow"

Bonafini is repulsive, but if people are going to be thrown in jail for organising protests, it's going to be a brutal 4+ years.
