Well So Much For The China Deal

I guess the news reports were all wrong and everything will be alright.

Beggars can't be choosey and China seems to be the only country answering Argentina's call. China didn't get deep pockets by getting the short straw in deals.

China got deep pockets mainly by enslaving its own people they still do and working out great for the ruling class there and for us in the rest of the world too!!! cheap trinkets for everyone

I don't see those desperate countries turning away this blood money. At least Argentina isn't. That is if the deal is still on the table after the insults.

confessions of an economic hit by john perkins ring a bell. just a new playbook. the Japanese lost a lot and have not recovered. interesting to see if china can hold on. impossible to hold argentina, Venezuela, and many other south American countries accountable for any financial agreement. right now china is buying the natural resources available globally, not available in china.

package deal. This will make a big change in Argentina defense. How reliable this weapon can be from China ?

Why Argentina buys new planes from China, the inside news from China :

The 3 South American countries ABC (Argentina, Brazil and Chile) are looking at each other and competing. The 3 countries always have old crappy weapons. Finally Chile first bought 46 F-16s(and 1 AWACS from Israel) and then Brazil bought 28 Jas-39 to top Chileans. Unfortunately Argentina is the only country has no dollars. It's like, living in a ghetto neighborhood, your neighbors bought Mercedes and Lexus, and you do not have $ for even a Honda Civic, but you have to do something. The Argentina generals are bugging CFK like a kid, They were initially thinking to buy used/retired planes (F-1) from Spain and Israel, but those planes are so old and it's embarrassing for Argentine pilots to fly them, plus they are useless. China is their only hope to get fighters with soy beans. Boy, that soy bean has so much task, to trade for fighters, trains and warships. Anyway, China(run a by a few dumb knuckcleheads), could not resist the sweet talk of a female president(now they know she laughs at them behind their back) offers Argentina J-10 or JF-17 (a redesigned Mig -21 with newer electronics), looks like Argentina is going to choose JF-17, which is much cheaper than J-10. This is the best Argentina can get, the unknown, untested Chinese military fighters and warships. If they can't get a deal from China, they have to defend the country with that little gun "used" by Nisman.

I think that is a very misguided reading of the situation. Chile acquired the F-16s (mostly used from the Netherlands) and the AWACS almost 15 years ago. Brazil is acquiring the JAS-39 now, and the acquisition is completely unrelated to the Chilean one, which happened 15 years ago. The simple fact is that the fighter jets of the Brazilian Air Force are simple getting too old and too expensive to maintain. Brazil has absolutely no imaginable scenario in which it would be confronting Chile militarily. The relations between the two countries is excellent and have been historically, since both used to share a common enemy (Argentina). Also, there are no shared borders, and Chile frequently buys Brazilian made military hardware. Chile was never the driver of Brazilian military acquisitions. Extremely old hardware and uncertainties about what will happen in Venezuela are.
