Generation War was called the German band of brothers. I enjoyed it and reckon it's worth watching.

Wouldn't be without Netflix now, currently hooked on Mad Men and trying hard to stay away from Game of Thrones lol.

How about Sons of Anarchy?

I'm on series 7 ep 4 of Sons of Anarchy and quite frankly I'll be glad when I get to the final episode, where I imagine there to be an ending Godfather style and they've all killed each other.
I know it's fiction and all that, but I find the gratuitous violence for its own sake, both repetitive and ugly.
I've read that real biker gangs make this series look like Sunday school.

Strange. I had a love/hate relationship with the series and I ended up viewing the entire program. I had to just let go and say OK it's about outlaws and criminals and so be it they lead a violent lifestyle. But I enjoyed the way the writer wove in so many Shakespearian references.

True about the Macbeth and Hamlet similarity, not to mention The Godfather.
Obviously I'll have to watch till the bitter end and can't wait to find out what happens to Gemma.
