Guys, guys, guys.....
I criticize Argentina as much as the next person, but let's not get carried way, shall we? This passiveness when faced with outrageous news is not unique to Argentinians. Let's not forget that the US has literally legalized torture, warrant less wire taping and summary execution of American citizens who are labeled "enemy combatants" by the president. Let's not forget the porn scanners and the outrageous practices by the TSA at airports. The US debt just topped 16 TRILLION without nay indication that government spending will slow down. Meanwhile, the US operate 12 nuclear aircraft carriers, more than TWICE the number of aircraft carriers operated by the rest of the world PUT TOGETHER. Should we mention stakes like Kansas where creationism is thought in public schools or the hysteric Islamophobia sweeping the Midwest? How about the people who were shot dead because they were wearing turbans and the jackass shooter thought they were Muslims?
So considering that the Bill of Rights is worth as much as toilet paper, the government is running the US economy into the ground and we are fighting two wars we can't possibly win, let's try to keep things into perspective. Yes, there is a lot of shit happening here in Argentina and I do not like it one bit. But let's not pretend this is the only mad house in town, shall me?
