What fresh insanity is this?

Man my head's spinning with all this. There has to something new every freakin' weak. I have lived in countries with dictatorships most of my life (Saudi Arabia, UAE) but I have to say that they were GREAT (well, Saudi Arabia sucks no matter what but the UAE was better) compared to the crap that is pulled every freakin' day here!

Enough already!

Just so I'm not misunderstood. I wasn't condemning the 0800 part. Its the federal government that makes my head spin!

We"re not all expat americans you know.
There are other countries in the world that are not as messed up as argentina or the united states.

Indeed there are. There are not that many, I reckon. However, if you are fortunate enough to be from one of the handful countries that are not as messed up as Argentina or the US, I congratulate you. You are one of the lucky few worldwide.

I think what makes Argentina far more messed up than most.. is that it has all the natural resources to be one of the greatest..with a large population that could reap those rewards, as a nation, as a people.. yet time and time again.. it fails itself.. becoming a poster child to the rest of the world..

I've been to many countries and at least based on my experience, Argentina not particularly worse than most countries. India, China, Brazil, Thailand, Syria are just a few examples that come to mind of countries with huge human and natural potential that are saddled by massive corruption, superstition, indifferent populations, lack of ethics or extensive hateful sectarianism or religious intolerance.
Is Argentina messed up? For sure it is. In a Global scale, is Argentina one of the worst offenders? Not really.

People just ain't no good
I think that's welll understood
You can see it everywhere you look
People just ain't no good

We were married under cherry trees
Under blossom we made pour vows
All the blossoms come sailing down
Through the streets and through the playgrounds

The sun would stream on the sheets
Awoken by the morning bird
We'd buy the Sunday newspapers
And never read a single word

People they ain't no good
People they ain't no good
People they ain't no good

Seasons came, Seasons went
The winter stripped the blossoms bare
A different tree now lines the streets
Shaking its fists in the air
The winter slammed us like a fist
The windows rattling in the gales
To which she drew the curtains
Made out of her wedding veils

People they ain't no good
People they ain't no good
People they ain't no good at all

To our love send a dozen white lilies
To our love send a coffin of wood
To our love let aal the pink-eyed pigeons coo
That people they just ain't no good
To our love send back all the letters
To our love a valentine of blood
To our love let all the jilted lovers cry
That people they just ain't no good

It ain't that in their hearts they're bad
They can comfort you, some even try
They nurse you when you're ill of health
They bury you when you go and die
It ain't that in their hearts they're bad
They'd stick by you if they could
But that's just bullshit
People just ain't no good

People they ain't no good
People they ain't no good
People they ain't no good
People they ain't no good at all

Sorry I was not clear. The phone line was set up by Macri for parents to call if campora shows up !! That is what the judge declared lillegal !! The phone line !! It is called protecting our children!! I saw post's on facebook , from parents with DNI's and parents phone numbers that their kids were not allowed to hear what campora says.. In case they show up.

BTW , the catholic Bishop of Bs As clearly stated they better not show up in his schools.

I draw the line at brainwashing kids. CFK is really pushing it with this.

Guys, guys, guys.....

I criticize Argentina as much as the next person, but let's not get carried way, shall we? This passiveness when faced with outrageous news is not unique to Argentinians. Let's not forget that the US has literally legalized torture, warrant less wire taping and summary execution of American citizens who are labeled "enemy combatants" by the president. Let's not forget the porn scanners and the outrageous practices by the TSA at airports. The US debt just topped 16 TRILLION without nay indication that government spending will slow down. Meanwhile, the US operate 12 nuclear aircraft carriers, more than TWICE the number of aircraft carriers operated by the rest of the world PUT TOGETHER. Should we mention stakes like Kansas where creationism is thought in public schools or the hysteric Islamophobia sweeping the Midwest? How about the people who were shot dead because they were wearing turbans and the jackass shooter thought they were Muslims?

So considering that the Bill of Rights is worth as much as toilet paper, the government is running the US economy into the ground and we are fighting two wars we can't possibly win, let's try to keep things into perspective. Yes, there is a lot of shit happening here in Argentina and I do not like it one bit. But let's not pretend this is the only mad house in town, shall me?

Oh please , what a nasty rant. I do not use the Bill of Rights as Toilet paper !!
Where are you from ?

I didn't mean YOU. I meant the US government. And I hail from NYC, although I am on temporary assignment here in Argentina.

Save your political views for another thread. Brainwashing kids in school ANYWHERE is ridiculous , and glad to see someone , be it politicians or parents trying to do something about it. That is what this thread is about. Not he US , Bill of Rights , or the US Constitution. Please vote in the US election. Then your voice will be heard where you voice you rants.
