What is the food you miss most from "home?"

Sorry there is a indian community with over 7 indian restaurants in Buenos Aires . Their food is nearly double in price than in Australia and Europe. There is over 100 thousand japanese in Argentina and half are from Okinawa this is a very large community and there are over 41 Japanese restaurants and over 100 sushi bars in Argentina but the japanese food is extremely expensive . Argentinians love sushi which is basically raw fish and rice .
there are well under 3000 Indians living in all of Argentina.
a tiny tiny group.
I have eaten at some of the Indian restaurants.
boring, substandard indian dishes, and, as you mentioned, quite expensive.

so you are proving my point.

I live, in the states, very near Vancouver, which has 15% of its population of South Asian descent, and hundreds of great Indian Restaurants.

I mentioned the Okinawan food.

Sushi in Argentina is a joke.
Ru Omakasa, and the Tintoria, are both good, and very expensive.
Otherwise, its farm grown salmon and cream cheese.
Argentina has invented sushi with cooked beef in it, as well as with dulce de leche.
Argentines love something they call sushi, which bears no resemblance to the real thing, and is not good.

The only one that I used to love was Mr Ho and I ordered always the famous raw beef dish Yukhoe-bibimbap (육회비빔밥): Raw beef served over a bowl of warm rice, vegetables, and gochujang (chili paste).
Mr. Ho is probably the one I like the least...
I mean, its good, but not great.
I sometimes get the lunch special, which is quite a deal, but its not at all comparable to Doma, which is elegant, authentic, and features korean food for koreans.

I should add that Mr. Ho was better, when it was in Flores, and after moving to Retiro, the food has been adjusted for local tastes. There are still tons of great Korean restaurants in Flores.

The two good Chinese restaurants in downtown are:
Rong Cheng, right near Teatro Colon- something like 150 dishes on the menu, including at least 5 with crab. Argentines never eat crab, the good stuff is all exported.
Its huge, and full of chinese tourists brought by the busload.
really good, take at least 5 friends.
Jia Yan, on Esmeralda, just a few blocks down Viamonte.
Smaller, still unabashedly chinese in its presentation, service, and lack of pandering to argentine taste.
Huge menu as well, lots of seafood, always good.
