What Would Dollarization Mean for Expats?

I can only speak from my prospective as a gay guy, but if one of the biggest "anti-woke" guys is in fact a closet case as many of us suspect, or, gasp, asexual/aromantic, it's very relevant since he's part of a movement that says it's people like me that are responsible for the collapse of western civilization.

It's like when women that make a social media career out of being anti-feminists complain about misogyny from famous right wingers and I'm like, well, yeah, that sucks, and discrimination is bad, but how many times are you going to put your hand on the stove and act surprised when you get burned?
First of all, he's a libertariam which is far from the US idea of a 'right winger'. Libertarians believe in maximum individual freedom. Second, it is the widespread socially LIBERAL belief that one's identity is precisely how one identifies. That is why, for example, Lia Thomas, is allowed on the University of Pennsylvania women's swimming team even though she apparently has not undergone surgery. I don't believe that Milei has made any pronouncement about his sexuality (nor should he have to) however if he identifies as hetertosexual, then why are you disputing his right to do so? Why isn't that discriminatory?

There is a lot of misinformation about Milei. People think he's going to shut down trade with China, that he thinks homosexuality is responsible for the collapse of western civilization, etc.

I don't know where people are getting these things. He could be a total disaster if elected, but it seems like people are ascribing a bunch of views to him that don't exist.

He specifically says he doesn't care if someone is gay. That he's a classical liberal and what people decide to do in the bedroom doesn't affect. him.

Libertarians believe in maximum individual freedom
That's why he's pro-choice right? (oh wait, he isn't), and his party members hold reactionary views on topics ranging from LGBT rights to wanting to murder leftists? He reminds me of the typical American "libertarian": fiscally libertarian and socially conservative, instead of libertarian on both. If he was actually libertarian I'd cut him some slack, and while he himself may not identify as a fascist, a bunch of his supporters do, and he looks the other way and refuses to admit that it's a problem they see him as a fellow traveler.

We've reached the point where Mileistas are parroting Cristina that #CalrínyLaNaciónMiente when covering his own stated agenda.

Does he not understand that in order for there to be "commercial partners of the private sector" you must have relations with communists?
Is this another case of Milei knowing he's bullshitting and lying, but just saying what his base wants to hear? I thought he was against populism and "the lying caste"? or does Milei truly not understand basic economic concepts like SWIFT/CIPS payments for the import/export of goods requiring the Argentine state's authorization and cooperation via the banking authorities in both Argentina, Belgium and China? Even outside of economics, which he's supposed to be a genius in, does he not know that repatriation of Chinese fishermen caught illegally fishing in Argentina's EEZ would require contacts to facilitate deportation for example? What about crime rings? Are you going to tell me theres no Triads here in Buenos Aires? Have you been to the Casino? What if they start shaking down the Chinese supermarkets and some get caught and have criminal convictions in China, but they can't be checked because he doesn't want government to government relations with Beijing, just private commercial? So much for tough on crime I guess.

Again, which is it? Is he lying, or is he stupid? Or is it "just politics" which would mean he's no different from the rest, despite his assurances to the contrary.

I also find it hilarious that he complains about Brazil supporting dictators then lists the US and Brazil as role model partners, two countries
that absolutely do not murder people and commit broad human rights abuses at home and abroad, right?

A person's sexuality should not be a factor however it's a reality that there are prejudiced people. In a world in which we are told that people can identify any way they want, should people be questioning Milei on how he chooses to identify?
This is Argentina, Sergio, not the USA or Europe. And many argentinos are actively opposed to seeing that whole agenda imported here. It's part of the grass roots resistance to the whole Kirchnerista agenda.

Is there really an underlying economic concept here? Is the SWIFT payment itself an economic concept, or is it the necessity for banking authorities to cooperate?

It would be better for me if Massa wins. Milei could be a disaster but the Ks and JxC have proven to be incompetent.

He understands that payments will need to go through the central bank, what he is saying is that under his administration there won't be new Chinese military bases, Chinese government funded infrastructure projects, yuan swaps, etc. Not there will be zero government interaction with China.

It's hilarious that he believes the US and western Europe have more social and economic freedom than China? I don't know anyone that believes otherwise.

Wasn't it PRO and Macri who first approved gay marriage in CABA?

Damn, there is a lot of truth in this comment.

I find the demonization of China bitterly amusing. Let's try a checklist -

1) How many countries has China invaded in the last 40 years? Zero*
2) How many countries has China attacked with drones or missile strikes in the last 40 years? Zero
3) How many foreign leaders has China assassinated in the last 40 years? Zero
4) In how many countries does China currently maintain troops, against the wishes of that nation's government? Zero

If you ask those same 4 questions about the USA, and accept honest answers, you will wind up with numbers greater than zero, in some cases considerably greater. But China is evil, eh? Right.

If you want to talk about something bad that China truly is doing, why is no one mentioning Mile 201? Argentina is being ripped off for an estimated 2-3 billion USD per year in squid alone, and China is the main offender in terms of the number of boats. To be fair, however, the Spanish fishing boats spend the greatest percent of the time with their transponders (ALS) switched off, in direct violation of EU regulations.

*admittedly China has occupied a few rocks in the South China Sea that are claimed by other nations, in at least one case multiple other nations, but that's a territorial dispute, and in no way comparable to blowing the hell out of a country and sending thousands of troops.

I think so. I remember that Macri was not opposed to same sex marriage. He said that he saw it as an international trend. You may recall too that Pope Francis (when he was Primate of Argentina) wanted the Argentine bishops to support civil unions but not same sex marriage. He was not successful in that move. The bishops opposed both ideas. There might be less hostility now as Francis has appointed more liberal bishops in Argentina.
