I'm shocked to find that Vital Tony isn't in the list, so consequently will be voting for 'none of the above'.
Vital Tony will be included in "What is Your Favorite Argentine Holiday Food?" poll next Christmas.

I , who live half of the year in Prague, miss pizza, empanadas, milanesas, bide de lomo, helado. vino, media lunas and many other thing which we can only dream of here.
instead i have tripe soup, cabbage in every which way you can imagine, restaurants which close at 2130,and many unfriendly people.
On the other hand, prices are stable and we have no ,limit on buyingforeign currency or via internet.
life is a trade off

What????

You can't make you own tripe soup?

I already lived in a county that thought it was edible.

But I also loved their tacos. :)

My opinion doesn´t count as I am no expat, but if I have to chose a local delicacy I go for all the crazy guts: chinchulines, riñon, chorizo and morcilla along with mollejas from a local asado :) yes, you can now call me cannibal. And i am a big fan of locro as well.
Your opinion always counts Nikad!

I like chinchulines, chorizo and locro, but I can do without riñon and morcilla, not to mention mollejas (which I find repulsive). What about ubre?

whenever I'm away I have this huge craving for toasted medialunas con jamon y queso... not just any medialunas but dos escudos' ones with good ham and cheese, toasted in my grill.

I'm no true expat either. So, obvious answer: Asado.
When going abroad, they go crazy whenever they are introduced to Empanadas. Usually I prepare them as side/optional dish along a local one, so it doesn't feel like they HAVE to like them. Guests will bite awkwardly, slowly..until they get the hang out of it. At least 2/3 will go as entree. And after tasting a bit of the main dish, sometimes even desert, is just matter of time until someone goes for another empanada and everyone else follows emptying the stock.

Bife de Chorizo.... where can you get this piece of meat...? Let me know

None of the above, including the comments (well, maybe with the exception of Steve's).

I think the pizza is horrible. The ice cream is so-so.

Empanadas? Milanesas? I can't imagine these being anyone's favorite food.

I'd have to say my favorite food here is a good bife de lomo. It's always excellent at A Los Bifes and Desnivel.
