Right after they shut down gravity, declare that men are no longer interested in sex, and give away free lomo on every street corner.
Sure, they could crack down on Cuevas, which are out in the open, but the actual Blue market, as in, the dollar/peso exchange rate defying the footstomping and tantrums of the government, is impossible to stop.
Hitler, Stalin, and Mao all tried to close down black markets, and none could- and they had much more draconian secret police than the Argentine Government does.
People will still want dollars, and still have to pay the going rate, regardless of whether or not Cuevas are open for business. I can trade dollars with a dozen businesses within a half block of my apartment any day of the week. Nothing the government could possibly do about that.

Wouldn't reading the history keep you from sleeping at night?
Heheh no, makes this look lilke child´s game. It is very distressing for people coming from relatively stable countries when they land in the middle of these crisis :p

"Developing" country my ass, more like falling apart at the seams.

We're on the inflation/devaluation express, next stop Venezuela!

Is it too early to take a stab at who is going to be on the 1,000 peso bill?
I'm guessing Nestor that SOB will get the honor. It's the least we could
do.

I agree with Nikad
As someone who lived through the dictatorship era and the hyper inflation when my first small aprtment cost me 1,250,000,000 pesos ley YES YOU READ WRITE OVER ONE BILLION and hyper inflation was in the thousands.
if this time benefits you, I am happy for you! but for most, ITS A LIVING NIGHTMARE IN DEJA VU again!

Suspend a black market?
They might be able to lift a few arbolitos and subject them to Nazi style interrogation Joe, but you and I both know that most cuevas try to keep a lower profile.
Unless of course SIDE has them tapped already.

Cringe every time I hear Argentina tagged with the term "developing country." The place has been a work in progress for almost a 100 years and here we are, back where we started again. Oh well.
Have a good weekend Nik

To paraphrase something I read elsewhere, "Argentina is the country of the future, and always will be."

Nah, no doubt Néstor is reserved for the next issue of this value

Curious, that is sooo true, but also is the country of the past since we re always living and considering what our country was once and what could have been if continued that circunstances.
