Juana Azurduy was a leader of the independence war against Spain. A woman in the XVIII century being general of a guerrilla army is a big deal.. Colón represents the colonialism. Makes sense with a nationalist government.

Juana Azurduy was very impressive as a fighter and leader. I don't know that it means they should replace Columbus with her, but her military accomplishments were huge. Much more deserving than Che Guevara. I suspect that The Queen would like to get some publicity shots of herself and Azurduy in the same frame like she does with Eva so people will think she is the reincarnate.
