Will pizza oust steak as Argentina's favourite dish?

Duderino,
Gotta cut you short there, cos you're talking a load of old cods ! I have been living here for more than 20 years and both beef (parilla, asado) and pizza are ingrained parts of the local cuisine. There is absolutely no way that the beef will be overtaken by pizza, just that fewer people can afford to go out to eat beef. The asado is in any case more of a traditional family meal, just as Sunday Lunch in the UK, fact is the amounts of beef consumed here are record breaking. You should check your facts, I could easily look it up but dont want to embarass you dude, especially as it looks like you aint getting enuff beef mate, later

I don't want to embarrass you, but I think it's clear that I didn't write the article.

Good luck finding grass fed beef today. It is quickly disappearing in Argentina. More's the pity.

Gosh! That is NOT what they want to do. As long as they copy the U.S. then I will not even visit, let alone, settle there for retirement. That's not what I really wanted to hear, but then sometimes, I guess, reality hits hardest in the stomach.

BTW...that's why I'm leaving the states. Everything natural is being touted as UNnatural, in some states they're ticketing or arresting people growing organic gardens on their own property, they've outlawed Raw Milk, and if a person doesn't do a cow-share, they can't get it; and the cattle are a part of the Cattle MFG industry, fed GMO corn and soybeans and it's killing them, not to mention the bovine growth hormones they give them. The cattle are dying, and if Argentina does this 'mass production' of cattle, pigs, chickens and feeds them that Monsanto GMO grain and corn, then I will NOT come there. That's what happens when countries hook up with the G20 (or whichever at the time). They get sucked into all this garbage and lose their freedoms via the world trade organization.

Thanks for your excellent post . If people believe that gmo soybeans are good for them they have rocks in their head . Soy is indigestible for humans and is the biggest con of the last years.

Monsato has a huge presence in Argentina and it is extremely hard to find real organic food here now. If you look at the correlation between Monsato, GMO, Feedlot and obesity levels in Argentina it is frightening.

Processed foods are the killer of many societies and the classic one is Greece when a generation ago 100 year healthy people were common but now they are the fattest and unhealthiest of Europe . Look at this shocking documentary from Crete to see the future for many here in Argentina and the world.

This was really shocking - particularly to hear the Portenos deny the existence of such obesity in their own country as much as I have always done..I simply didnt know it existed. Thanks for sharing.

I am currently 94 kilos about 20 kilos overweight for my height and build and this is due to eating a normal argentinian diet of occasional empanadas, bread with meals , steaks and the occasional hamburger. I do not drink soft drinks ever . I am sure if I drank like most argentinians I would weigh 110 kilos .

Human beings are not designed to eat processed garage and for this reason people who eat a raw food diet are all slim and in great health .

I am currently of the caveman diet and my goal is to weigh 75 kilos by the end of March 2012 . I will keep you informed of my progress.
