Xmas Rental Nightmare - Advice Please - Where To From Here ?

PS Bajo_cero2 - thank you so MUCH for you constructive comments here: ''you got what you deserve'' ? Ah - you mean I got ripped off by my landlady (the same way you ripped me off 2000 dollars when you were my lawyer and did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING FOR IT - you know - the 2000 dollars I sent to your account in Sweden so that you didn't have to pay tax on it here in Argentina for ''representing me'' and ''helping me'' to get my citizenship when my wife has now actually done a better job than you EVER did and still achieved the same result anyway ? :) (And for FREE of course - which is what it is SUPPOSED to be in Argentina) lol Gods, thats a laugh... BTW - I kept all the emails regarding payment of that money into the Swedish account - and have proof of the deposit as well - and according to the judge my wife talked to all that is needed is for that to be translated into Spanish and officially apostilled and its going to make very interesting reading for the court indeed...

Well I think you deserve peace after all this mess with a landlord that didn't keep the promise. Maybe you're responsible to bite on some words that are not plausible (I'm an optimistic guy who wouldn't say no to a candy offered in the street, but just have to reject someone giving me 10 grand worth of M&Ms) but wish the best on this situation. Hang tight in there, one extra effort and you should be set to finally enjoy instead of getting "canas verdes".

About the money, if it doesn't stress you, keep pushing or it. But if it does, and you can live without it, take into account if it's worth the hassle. As its said here... "que le sirva para remedios" to them (instead of you).

Bajo Cero wtf???????? he got what he deserves? you really have to be a piece of you know what to come out with such statement. Do you have a hidden agenda or something? Cos this does not sound like you, or maybe somebody hacked your account? oh and btw, sometimes people name an 18 yo or 19 yo as a child here as a local you know that so stop with the bs. You are coming out as resentful, not sure what your statements are all about.

oh ok I just read a new post where the OP has had a previous problem with you.

Veil well and truly dropped for one particular participant here. For anyone with a shred of ethics of decency it ought to be obvious who I am referring to do.

Forget about revenge, the relief will be temporary but the negative emotion will haunt you. Be happy that you are a more ethical and decent person than some of the people you have had the misfortune to deal with previously, be happy in the wisdom you have gained in terms of protecting yourself and others in future. Revenge is an endless drain on your happiness.

These people will be trapped in a life of conflict and bitterness, let them be. Fortunately the world often has a way of sorting these things out in it's own.

"It's a long road that doesn't turn" - Irish truism, almost always correct (* -almost!)

Thanks Dublin :) I know what you're saying makes sense - and I should just ''move on'' - but its just that this is not the first time I have been ''had'' like this and the urge to do something about it does get stronger... Well, I'll do what I can to at least get my deposit back I think - but yes, after that I will take your advice and move on - I don't want these experiences to make me bitter and twisted... I am better than that and better than these individuals I have had the misfortune of dealing with... One thing I know from my own life experience is this kharma is never a question of ''if'' - its ONLY a question of ''when''... What goes around comes around - and there are no free dinners :) That universal law applies - you get back what you put out - eventually... That being the case I would NOT want to be in the shoes of the individuals I have named and shamed here... PS If I ever get rich I will live in Dublin - Gods its a beautiful city :)

(Okay gringoboy - I think I got that - basically, ''don't do bad if it won't bring you any good?'' Sorry - my Spanish is terrible but I think that is how I would translate it...)

Bajo_cero has been on this site for many years, and has given much useful advice in thousands of posts. Juanito joined a few months ago and is mostly active in this thread. I know a lot of people strongly disagree with bajo_cero due to politics espoused elsewhere, but it's a bit ridiculous to jump on him here when it's clear that he and the original poster had a professional disagreement. His advice, even in this thread, is sound: armed "persuasion" is mildly humorous as a concept, but any impressionable young foreigners reading this and mistaking it for counsel should know that it's an easy path to a prison sentence and/or deportation.

Armed threats are the realm of criminals.

Nasty and vindicative posts are the realm of other posters, posters that have, on occasion, not been above making threats themselves.

What you fail to see is that in this case it is BajoCero outing himself with his remarks, the OP had said nothing about him...
