Anybody Up For An Expat Scientology Coffee Morning?

They dont.
In fact, not a single war has been fought over Scientology.
Whereas, the number of people killed by Christians fighting Christians over differing views of theological interpretation, as well as Muslims fighting Muslims, and even Hindus fighting Hindus is in the tens of millions.
Add the inter-religious wars going back millenia, and you have substantially more "heat" aimed at all the other con artists than the relatively minor negative comments the poor Scientologists have had to put up with.

Even Zoroastrians have gotten much worse treatment.

snowflakes.

That answer is a red herring. The question wasn't "which religion is responsible for the greatest carnage," rather "why should we believe the unproven myths of one group and laugh at those of another?"

Probably the best answer does lie in 50 years vs two or more millenia. The major religions have become culturally embedded and their doctrines so familiar that it's like asking what pattern is your grandmother's wallpaper? Rationally and intellectually there's no difference in the myths' validity, but we've grown up with rituals like communion and are just discovering what kind of fellow is Lord Xenu.

The refusal to accept that this world, for all its warts, exists merely by chance is certainly open to mockery.
Said mockery does not bother me, for one.

We shouldn't, but do you really think Christian, Muslims, Hindus are not being laughed at? I think they get ridculed far more than Scientologists. And the 50 years vs. milenia does not matter, but maybe the changing of times does. Between the death of Jesus and 150AD, thousands (as least) of Christians were murdered simply for their belief, many of these of course came in the first 50 years of the religon. It (worshiping Christ) was illegal to the Romans and the growing church was constantly at odds with Judaism.

I am not absolving Christianity because I don't care. But certainly the relgion faced a tougher opening half century than Scientology did. Belief or non-belief is unimportant, but Scientologists have not been actively persecuted. Ridiculed for sure, but then again, see above. It at least seems we are more tolerant of a crackpot who wants to create a story to herd sheep.

Let's remember, the question was why do scientologists get more heat than Christians, Muslims, etc? The truth is they don't, and never have.

Do you intend to identify the time and place of the event? If not, you admit that the whole thing is imaginary bullshit (which at least won't smell as bad as the real thing).

If you provide a verifiable venue and date, you will receive my apology.

Sure, if you agree to buy a ticket....we will send you all the info you need.

Are you an admin here? I think not. Until such time as you are, it's open season on mockery of Scientologists - as it should be.

Hey, I thought selling tickets to meetups was against the rules here...

If I'd have known this, I'd have charged a fee for a seat at the coffee chats table. Darn it. I missed out on my millions. I guess I'll have to settle for a Ford.
