Does anyone know what an Argentine passport holder does if he has a ten year US tourist visa but his passport with the visa expires long before the end of the ten years?

You need to have both passports (old one with the visa and the new one) when traveling.

It means that you lie when you renewal your passport, you should say that you lost it.

If I understand correctly, the question is about Argentine citizens who have an Argentine passport with a 10 year visa to visit the US. I agree about the need to contact the US embassy to know if the "ten year visa" needs to be recorded in the new passport prior to travel.

I sure wouldn't show up at the airport without being sure of the answer.

You just carry both passports and ask not to have your US visa damaged when they void your AR passport

Visa validity and passport validity are separate

My wife has exactly this situation. Bring both passports, the expired one with the visa and the new one. There is no issue as I originally posted.

I insist, when you renewal the argentine passport, they keep your old one. So, you should say that you lost it or you loose your visa.
In my case, I renewal at the consulate abroad and then you have extra 10 years with the same passport. Regards

Yes, they let you keep expired passport pretty much anywhere. But they damage it / void it. I've got a bunch of expired passports, UK and Croatia

They give you a canceled passport back mostly for visa, visa transfer and residence permit transfer purposes

I had B1/B2, F1, L1B, H1B and E1 USA visas in expired or fully stamped passports and traveled easy
