Best Restaurant in BA

It's a "molecular" restaurant. If you can't get the thing to work, there's a problem. Anyway, if it were cheaper (like 1/2 price!) I'd recommend it. At this price point, uhmm, no, not worth the money.

I didn't know there were molecular restaurants here.
There is this famous one near (?) Barcelona where the Chef opens only 6 months a year. But he got into some problems (many customers ended up with digestive complications :D ).
I've never tried one, but I wish to do it someday (food cold-fried into azot and such things... I am curious).

El Bulli? Digestive complaints? I've never hear that.

We were never able to get a table at El Bulli. But there are some really excellent restaurants of that style in Barcelona. The guy who opened the one here is said to have "trained" with Ferran Adria of El Bulli. I don't know what that means though. Did he work there? Did he take a class?

There is a famous one in France. Can't think of it now. Will get back to you on that.

If you've never tried I wouldn't try it first here to be honest.

Thanks for reminding me of the name of Ferran Adria, that's him.

Well it's hard to decrypt what is jealousy and what are real facts but he has been attacked a few times, by other Chefs and too by some customers.

Since he has been ranked 4 times in a row as the best worldwide restaurant jealousy is understandable.

Yes, I prefer not trying molecular gastronomy here, safe bet.

El Bulli?

No, E. Coli

I like La Robla on Viamonte. Neighborhood place. Not too big. Arrive early or you get banished to the basement which sucks. Typical Argentine menu and reasonably priced. Nothing special but nothing bad either. I like the pink salmon in white cream sauce with boiled potato. I am such a gourmet. I also like that Spanish seafood place near Congresso. Named after an area in Spain...can't think of it...always crowded. It will come to me...someday. Plaza Asturias...see it came to me.

Pura Tierra in Belgrano...small...cozy...has a "horno de barro" inside...good margaritas and the 8 course meal (approx ARS 200 per person) is a great way to try all the main courses they have to offer....I have taken lots of friends and 'turistas' and they have all complimented me on the choice. located on 3 de Feb al 1100 (and Lacroze)
