Blonde small girl in Buenos Aires. How dangerous will it be for me??

The possibility ocurred to me as well. I mean, I doubt that many men randomly pull your dress up and touch you in the street hahaha. If so, I don´t see why anyone would want to go to Barcelona. I mean, I´ve had an Argentine man bite my arm, but that was a one-off occasion and I definitely don´t tell people ´careful - men here bite your arm!!!´ because, in general, they don´t :D So I would definitely say if what Johanna says is true, men are definitely a letter BETTER behaved here than in Barcelona in general (excepting your crazy arm-biting kind, but let´s write them off as a minority).

Hi there,
Best bet is make sure you live in Palermo soho, or some other more 'middle class' place, maybe caballito or a middle class residential area. I was in constitucion last night at the circus and was amazed at the difference between here and there. I have never felt at all worried and have in fact been escorting a blonde russian girl recently who reports nothing worse than cab drivers trying to flirt badly when she is out on her own

KatharineAnn,

Actually the grabbing thing happens at least 4 times a week. And Im not hanging out in these strange areas, it happens in the centrum among other people. The skirt incident has only happened twice though... I mean seriously, this can't only be happening to me??!

it's possible that it's only happening to you. was your skirt very short or inviting ome how? sorry but it's true that one does have to change the way they are dressed if they are constantly being harrassed. That or stop complaining about it.

Like in Egypt, I can't stand the italian women that walk around in hot pants and halter tops and then complain about all the "unwanted" attention. Well, if you didn't want attention you'd dress appropriately for a conservative arab country.

So sorry, I know it's not PC to say that women are at fault, but they are also the ones that can change their dress to defer unwanted attention.

by the way, I'm a blond tall girl here. You get piropos, not much more unless you're wanting it. It's very much about your behaviour as well. Most Argentine women walk around lookng kind of bitchy because they're not open to these comments.

If you go to an after office or are in a club it's a different thing since it's a pick-up type of situation. On the street the guys are nowhere near as bad as you described, and certainly a lot more reined-in than the Italians

it seems what syngirl is trying to say is if you leave the ropa de puta en barcelona vas a estar bien

Hi: do not listen to them, my sister is blond and never had any trouble becauss of that fact. There are millions here. Argentina is not Bolivia or Peru, where you would stand out in a crowd.
But we do have more crime than in the past, just be normally cautious, as you would be in Rome, Paris or Madrid.
Good luck. Henry
