I remember when I was a young man.
The Corona Virus swept over Baires.
I'll never forget all the posts of disbelief on BAexpats
as they dropped in their tracks on Av Santa Fe
I raced through the Subte out to the pavement
And I stood there shivering in my tango shoes and
Watched the whole world go up in flames
And when it was all over, I said to myself
“Is that all there is to a Pandemic”

Is that all there is
Is that all there is
If that's all there is, BAexpats
Then let's keep tangoing
Let's break out the Fernet and have a ball
If that's all there is...

That's what Pensador though as well (at least about the mate), but if the virus is airborne (and not just spread by droplets), and, as Styx also points out in today's video, more people are dying from the virus than recovering...and the only people recovering require intensive hospital treatment, the question remains, where the hell to go...while there is still time to get there...without being infected..and once you're there, what can you do to protect yourself?

Most of the reports have said this mostly effects old codgers, like CaribbeanKook, so as a young, virile man I haven't been worried. But then yesterday I was listening to a podcast with Mike Adams and he was saying that in the Lancet report that even if you recover, Corona Virus victims are left with permanent heart problems and now I'm starting to get worried. I'm not saying it's time to panic ... yet...

don't forget the assholes just walking down the street who blow snot rockets to clear their nose, instead of using a tissue or handkerchief like a normal person

If it comes here, we're all going to hide in a secret bunker in Bahia Blance.

Living in argentina without a contingency plan is at the very least irresponsible and i will back this statement if you care to read.
March 76 tanks on the streets, suspension of constitutional rights until 83
Meantime inflation and hyper inflation , job market became invisible, also over night you went from citizen to suspect for the duration
First riots in the 90s due to... you guessed it inflation and lack of jobs, supermarkets raided, and some burnt to the ground, many victims.Cavalry no where to be found or arriving late
Early 2000s banks taking by order of the federal gov. all assets from private citizens including safety deposit boxes .with the promise of being repaid in the next 10 years at cero interest. some got paid some didn't
After that populism took over generating the protection of criminals hiding under the human rights umbrella, and again safety on the streets became the law of the jungle except that now the cavalry doesn't even bother to show up due to lack of funds in many cases.
I could go on and on with more detail examples but the bottom line here is , there is no safety , there is this new way of thinking that protects the law breakers , the gov won't protect you. the banks won't help or protect your assets, and if we were to add up any other type of contingency , is for damn certain no one will come to your aid.
As Steve said, one months supplies at hand and cash is the bare minimum you should have at all times..... sorry if this disrupted your notion that people are great here , friendly and really care for you....

Good luck with that.

I don't live in Bahia Blanca and if there any secret bunkers, no one has shared their secret with me.

You guys had your best chance about six years ago when I was willing to sell the 2400 mtr2 lot next to my house...

as well as about two years ago when I was willing to sell my house and convert the galpon (outbuilding) to a casita.

Now, I might rent the casita (furnished), but the renter would have to pay enough in advance to finish the conversion.
