Going to Uruguay to renew visa

OK taking everybody's advice, plus my own preferences, into account, I'll go to Uruguay as it'll be my first time there anyway and it'll be a day out, and if I don't get a fresh 90 day stamp on my return I'll go to migraciones and get an extension. It will be my first and last visa extension either way. Thank you everybody for your help with this one.
