How Safe Is Ba?

Isn't walking in LA against the law jajajaja?

There are plenty of good walking neighborhoods in LA - just spent the weekend in Los Feliz, which is very walkable. LA's public transport is improving, though I don't think I'd call it good yet.

of course you walk in LA it takes trying to find parking or dealing with parking tickets (or at least trying to decipher no parking signs) and you learn just walk everywhere

Never been stolen either, i actually know few people that have been stolen in my group here in Buenos Aires, is kind of dificult to get yourself pick pocketed in a bus, subte yes but bus??

Unfortunately I know of three cases personally of people being pick pocketed in the bus. All women. Didn't know it had happened until they got off. So altho I agree with the great vistas from the colectivos windows and the great bargain it is, if I need or want to take anything valuable with me on a given day (ie iPhone, iPad or quantity of cash) I would opt to walk or take a taxi. A side note, I've had some wonderful conversations with taxi drivers!

As you can see, lots of opinions. The certainty is this. You can't (shouldn't) use a nice phone on the street. No sitting outside with a laptop. No wearing expensive watches or jewelry. Don't flash cash. Beware of pickpockets which are the most common crime. As for the rest, your perception will develop as you're here and is very subjective.

Dont agree with this. I see a lot, houndreds of people with their Iphone walking in the streets, in the subte, in a bar, etc. Same with laptops, lots of people in a bar working, or everywhere, is not that you cant or you shouldnt use it, is just to be cautious, be careful, be aware.
There are special places like the subte or microcentro where pickpocketing is gonna happen if you dont take measures, but besides that, excepting some dodgy street at night, its ok generally.

You see hundreds of people in Capital walking with their iphones all at the same time and using them on the street and on the subte (I don't count bars b/c that's inside). I find that..difficult to believe. But hey, maybe you hang out in different places than I do.

And I didn't say you couldn't work on a laptop. I said not outside. But maybe you know more than the waiters at most restaurants who will straight up tell you not to work outside with your computer.

I see Iphones EVERYWHERE on the streets, by everywhere I mean everywhere, cause everybody has one, even the lower strata people, the maids, the porteros, everybody has one, so I see it A LOT. And yes, on the streets.
