Indian - Thai food

I would recommend Mumbai in Palermo - it was recommended to me by a British Indian guy on a flight from BA to London. On my return to BA, my girlfriend and I went to Mumbai. She is Argentinian, enjoyed it but found even the least spicy dish right on her limit. I had the chicken jalfrezi and asked for it "Indian hot" - it was really good and similar to the jalfrezi you get in a good Indian in England. It was the perfect amount of spice for me.

Lotus. Went, ..and promptly left. Waited for a table, only two of us. Restaurant had less than 4 people eating, that apparently meant no tables for two. In the expectation that a rush of 50 odd diners might appear we were asked to wait for the other couple at the only other table for two to finish eating. They wouldnt accomodate us on another table. I could understand if they were full, but as they were virtually empty i thought it a bit much. Worse (for their business surely!) another couple came in and were told they would have to wait for us to eat before they could have a table. Madness.

We gave them our place in the queue. Who knows if they continued waiting ...there were more waiters than customers at this stage.

Went to todos contentos around the corner and had some very tasty kung po / kun pao. Served very promptly and the dish was bolstered with dash of extra chilli..no trouble. Recommended..

Hi There - Lotus Thai in Arribenos street is superb - probably the best Thai in South America - I have been going there for years and is excellent and as good as I have had in the UK Or USA - the other thing I like about is the ambience and decor is really cool and the music is nice to the ears - they also have a great selection of beers - don't miss it and don't listen to the critics here

Yes, go, but don't go as a couple, or at least ring ahead and ensure the two seater table is available! I'm giving them nil points for customer service. Not often that it is so bad you dont try the food!

I second Dublin2BA. The service is downright horrible at Lotus. The owner or head chef is one crazy B*&tch. However, the food tastes good.

I get my spices on line from Curry Frenzy, brought some with me and they have the recipe on the bag so can't go wrong. They are
very good and reasonable price.I have yet to have a decent meal in an Indian here, suppose eating in taxi rank cafe with paki drivers
sort of spoils it for me.

Hmm... after hearing a lot of good feedback about Lotus, we (group of 6) decided to try it out early last year. It was terrible. Possibly the worst Pad Thai I've ever had. The other dishes did not impress either, maybe except for one of the curries which was "good". Maybe they had a bad service that one night, but I haven't been back since, and don't plan to.

Had food in 'Tandoor' Indian restaurant after almost 2 years since my last. Enjoyed it. The food has improved and so has the service. On a week night, it was pretty much full of clients. I had "seekh kebabs" and "chicken tikka" both very good with 2 beers. The bill came to 185 pesos. Expensive. But enjoyed myself. recommended.

Location - laprida y Charcas.

I think they are open in afternoon only on saturdays and sundays.
evenings - 2000-2330.

I've been to Mash in San Telmo quite a few times. Always enjoyed it. Run by a British guy and his boyfriend.

Is that Bangers and Mash now being served at the Jihadi Khyber Restaurant?
