Has anyone bought a laptop in BA recently? Is it true that nowadays it's more convenient and cheaper to buy them here as opposed to buy them in the USA and bring them over?

If will travel to the USA anyhow must work out the economics .... weigh in the issues of local warranty and tech service by a major outlet...! Assume you pay no custom duties?

You could compare prices on Mercado Libre to Amazon try to find similar models.

Definitely not cheaper. Convenient, yes; buying a computer where you are is by definition an order of magnitude more convenient than hauling it over from the US. But it'll cost you.
Chile is a much closer plane trip and prices approaching the ones in the US.

I recently brought one in for a friend two weeks ago. (along with a ton of other stuff they shipped to my house). I never have any issues anymore bringing stuff in for friends. It used to be a hassle a few years ago but gotten much easier it seems like.
