Hi there. I have a question for the forum. I was wondering what I can do to get a refill of my medication.
I made the mistake of leaving this until the last moment and I will have no more meds left come Friday,
and I tried going to pharmacies and they all said I need a prescription.
The medication is Venlafaxine (Venlafaxina) an anti-depressant/anti-anxiety med. I went to the public hospital
today in Bario Notre and they wouldn't let me see a doctor because "they will not give you a prescription as you
need an appointment". I had spoken to friends and they all said that even if pay the 300 pesos to go to the
German Hospital they likely wont write me a prescription and it will be money wasted.
I'm now starting to really worry what to do as the side effects of discontinuation is very dangerous: from
anxiety attacks, drastic mood swings, and well, worse...
My friends and a friend of mine's mom is a psychologist said I'm crazy if I think I can find a doctor willing
to write me a prescription, even if I am all out and the serious potential that it carries from not having the meds.
I'm planning on trying to get a psychiatrist (something I don't know how to do, would also love any help) that I
can discuss the medication treatment on a regular basis with, but until then, as it takes time I assume, I need
to get these meds, and ASAP.
I'm going to go to one of the public hospitals that have a 24 hour Psychiatrist on call tomorrow morning, and I
guess my question is what do I do if I can't get a prescription? Will the German hospital be more willing to?
I have the bottles, the pharmacy record from home, and my medical charts from my doctors, I'm just really worried
Thank you all for the help!
