Spending A Year In Argentina

All I know is that eight years ago an innocent North American friend of mine made a new Argentine friend and they ended up at his apartment and spiked his drink and he woke up to an empty apartment. He should have stuck with the friends he knew already.

Maybe it is legit, I certainly hope it is. I hope she's looking to make new friends on BAexpats and to find new children students as well.

Hello Everyone!,

For what I just read, I assume I'm not that welcome here. I have had many friends from other countries including France, Alaska, USA, Canada, Chile, etc. and roommates as well. Both males and females. I find Argentinian friends not as interesting, honest and well traveled as many of my foreigner friends. They always have awesome stories to tell and If it wasn't because I have a kid, I would probably be out travelling the world. Also, I feel resourceful when they need help on how to go about living in BA PLUS I get to practice my English.

On the other hand, I was an expat myself in England for 2 yrs. all alone and no one welcomed me as I'm trying to do with you. I'm sorry if I offended or gave you the wrong idea.

I certainly do not run an escort agency. I'm 28 Y.O, I studied to be an English Interpreter at USAL University, run a temporary apts. website, that's me on the pic in England 2008 and I'm currently employing some expats myself for my new Bilinguals Language Agency Specialized in Children. I have a 5 Y.O son who's British and my bf is French so I get your point because even to my bf is difficult to adjust to Argentina and he always feels someone is being dishonest, trying to rip him off, and that sort of things.

The sad part about having friends from abroad is that at some point they leave! and that's why I always welcome new friends.

Anyways, if you need any further info. please do let me know!

Best,
Patricia

No it isn't. In fact, it's one of the least culturally diverse cities I've been to. No argument that there is a lot of stuff to do, but like the food, there isn't a lot of diversity. You may have had an office in Paris, but it doesn't sound like you took advantage of the city very much. If there are 4 or 5 interesting things to do in BsAs, there are 40 or 50 in Paris. I don't know enough of London to have an opinion. In San Francisco, which is a much smaller city, there is probably as much to do as here, but the diversity is much greater.

It's all relative. If you like Tango and empanadas, then this is the place for you.

I would take SanFrancisco over BuenosAires any time .... hands down ... if I were a Warren Buffet.
But if you're one of the unfortunates who couldn't make it, come on down ... the price is right ... Tango, empanadas .. and much more !
