Whatever one might think about Bush (I'm no devotee of his myself) I'll be damned if I ever see an American President put on trial by any international "court". Of course we didn't ratify it, why on earth would we want to submit ourselves and give up our sovereignty to an outside group? If there's a trial to be had, we'll do it ourselves, under OUR laws, thank you.

unfortunately we are already giving up our sovereignty when obama agrees to attack libya without approval from congress. the UN is running things now and the american people have nothing to say about it.

Try and twist and turn it the way you want Steve. It doesn't change the fact that it's widely accepted as truth by most people, including the U.N, that the invasion was illegal.

With the gas that your government supplied Saddam with you mean? And that your government continued to supply him with arms after he slaughtered them?

No matter what hapens in the US or who is in charge, I fear that hundreds of millions are going to die (worldwide) in the next ten years...no matter what we say here.

That is very well said!

(Credit must be given when credit is due.)

WW2 and Vietnamn they were drafted, so there is a difference. People joining the military today normally do so because they can't afford college. And they are statistically very uneducated.

And hopefully one day the next generations of Americans will see them in the same light as German people see their forefathers that fought for Nazi-Germany.

Who do you think you are? Have you ever worked with military personnel, to have such insight into their general intelligence or level of education?

Have you been to Iraq, seen what's actually going on? Tell me about yourself, tanvimil. I want to know who's calling my brothers and me retarded war-criminals. Better yet, if you think you've got the stones, you can tell me in person, without the internet to hide behind, any time or place you like. I've mostly left violence behind as a lifetyle, but even now I think I'd derive singular pleasure from the sound of your face crunching on pavement. After all, deep down I'm still a mongoloid baby-killer.

I agree, and I hate it. Maybe not so much after the next elections.... ha...

This I agree plainly with you. Fair enough he got away with it (anyway, which country would ask for it... Belgium was thinking about it since they passed some kind of "universal law" to prosecute such crimes / correct me if I'm wrong).

What made me react is to read the thing about "everybody thought there were WMDs". I would have the same reaction if someone was coming and saying "the gas chamber did not exist during ww2".

Anyway, if Bush had'nt existed, maybe wouldn't have Obama been elected and this was the surprising (in the good way) America I like! (Whatever one may think of BO).

A bit of "political-fiction" now :

At a time where many countries disengage from Afghanistan, while the talibans progress (politically also), I find it curious that it's precisely the moment where OBL is shot.
Furthermore, 500 top taliban prisoners managed magically to escape from a well guarded jail.
If there has been no deal, at least there are two strong counterparts that could have made one!
So, the timing is interesting on the Afghan side.

Timing is also interesting on the US side : 1 1/2 year before the elections + a way to forget -temporarly- about the crisis.

Somehow those "fascislamists" got a few victories over us like changing our way of living with all those security measures, in socks in airports, with those idiotic red/orange/yellow flags for the threat level (we got the same on French TV too) to keep people ... alert or afraid?!

Any free thinking person with any semblance of intelligence would question this story about Bin Laden.

If he was killed where is the DNA evidence
Why was he buried at sea when clearly this is not Muslim tradition .
Why did they not capture him alive as he could help clearly in information useful for the so called war of terror

These are just a few questions I have in regards to this case.

All these questions have been answered. There were DNA tests confirming his identity, I assuming if they were provided people would simply move the goal posts and declare them fake or that they can't be confirmed because the body was buried at sea. Even they were available it would serve no purpose in my opinion.

He was buried at sea to one get it finished quickly and preventing a burial site becoming a shrine. Makes sense to me and I think it was the right decision which was probably made long before the mission. If he hadn't been buried at sea and photos released the same people would now be complaining about the barbarity of the Americans keeping the body around and showing these hideous photos.

They have only been looking for the guy for 10 years. They found a compound that they only suspected he was in with which they assumed was protected with armed guards and that if found they believed he would be armed not willing to go without a fight. It's not surprising to me there for that he wasn't taken alive. I wasn't there and can't second guess what happened. I can't figure out from this comment if the poster is saying it didn't happen or is complaining about the way it happened.

My favorite of the whacky theories is in the following YouTube clip.
