Why Isn't Tevez On The Team?

If you only look at active players, Tevez is number 3! No active player is better except Messi and Aguero.

That's been Argentina's problem. They have great players, but often a mediocre team. Maybe by making decisions like leaving Tevez at home, they will show up as a team rather than a collection of great players.

Tevez is trouble. I like him, but there's no denying he's the type of player that can cause a ruckus in the locker room. He also seems to have issues with authority.

In England he sat on the bench for for quite a while because of personal issues and problems with his coach. He's been heavily fined, arrested, etc etc. He just can't keep his act straight, despite all his talent.

Agreed - despite all of his talent, he's a bit of a locker room cancer. Messi has plenty of ego of his own, but he tends not to poison the well when he isn't personally doing well, is better at making the other players around him more successful, and (at least among the Argentina national team players) they seem to get along better and have more fun without Tevez in the room.

Maybe he will work on his English during the time off.

Pat yourself on the back and humbly ponder we all once sounded like this is reverse.

Ferguson let him go because he was a lazy trainer and the fee was too high.
