3D Tv: Is It Worth It?

Yeah, we thought Japan paid for occuping Korea for centuries at the 1965 recompensation ceremony and the head honchos of the two contries shook hands, but now they want more!

I tend do agree with the assessment that most of the time, it is the Koreans that keep playing the victimhood card. It is politically very expedient (just like the Malvinas issue here).
However, some Japanese do not help either, by publishing history books that either minimize or deny the atrocities committed during the occupation, or when some jackass conservative comes out and tries to justify the occupation as some type of "merciful act"from Japan. So both countries are assholes in this dispute, although I think the South Koreans are the bigger assholes.

It is politically very expedient for South Korean regime to keep bringing up the Japanese occupation issue. it is just like the Malvinas here, and serves the same political purpose.
But some Japanese do help fuel the fire by publishing books that minimize or completely deny the atrocities that happened during the occupation.

I'd put Smart TV's along side 3d TV's in things not really worth getting. a small HDMI Dongle like the amazon fire tv, chromecast or one of the 1000's of android sticks can do what a smart tv does easily enough.
Only in your mind. There are some advantages to not tying into Google et. al. I've had the dongle thingies and they are a pain. & I just wanted to add that I prefer to hard wire my smart tvs.

steveinbsas, so which brand of TV are you contempleting to purchase?
I fanatically recommend the SONY brand...Its resolution and colour tuning has the Japanese touch, just sublimely human !

The price of SONY TVs in Argentina do not compare favorably, at least at Garbarino.

The Philips 39" LED w/FULL HD (1920x1080) was offered this past weekend for $5900 w/18 payments @ zero interest.

Today the same model is $6199 (one payment). http://www.garbarino...9-77/2f0f990400

The so called "precio normal" is stated as $8999. Over the weekend the "precio normal" of this model was $9499, creating the appearance of a discount of $3500 versus a discount of $2800 today.

Also today, a SONY 32" HD (1366x768) is priced at $5999 w/12 payments of $499 @ zero interest. http://www.garbarino...r435/54fb682bf0

If viewed side by side I have no doubt the SONY would have a "better" image, but for the same price, I would choose a 39" Philips FULL HD over a 32" SONY HD. The same might not be true if the 39" TV was a brand such as Ken Brown, Hicense, JVC, Panasonic, or Noblex. I realize that I would only enjoy the benefit of FULL HD with a Blu-Ray player, but I believe that is a desirable option.

I use chromecast with plex, its excellent. Streams everything to my tv no problem. I`ve tried Apple tv and WD TV and Smart TV and chromecast runs pretty much perfect compared
to the other two.
I had the wd tv and apple hardwired and to be honest they probably start a film 2-3 seconds faster than a chromecast using wifi but that was the only benefits. Its also so much easier using a phone to select what you want to view than a dedicated interface like the others user. I`ve used smart tv and they were horribly slow and clunky interfaces, but from what I`ve seen the new ranges starting to appear at trade shows that look to fix these problems.

Chromecast is hard to beat. I'll take it over ANY smartTV.

But the wave of, I o T will use smartTVs for its implementation. So pretty soon, ANY smart TV will be essential for our IT dependent and driven lifes.
Chromecast, Google dongle etc, is the bridge gap devices till real smartTV will be available for the masses. However, I presume to be introduced there in Argentina, the tech wise TVs will be least a few years behind to outside democratic and modern nations?

steveinbsas.
Yeah, I agree. The Sony cost more...But just investigate as to why all the pro media uses SONY TV if you like? Because they are way superior to other brands..IMHO..and the world TV stations usage of its brand is a testimony to the fact. I have been using SONY brands for ages and can't recall any of my SONY branded electronis ever breaking down on me..I still have my SONY XBR 70' LCD TV with me and last 5 years since my retirement my TV is on 8 hrs 24/7 and I have it from 2006 ? Working as if a Seiko/Citizen watch to this date!
But if wanting to save for affordability sake, the more cheaper the better, I started seeing many made in China cars there in Lat Am countries, they are way cheaper than the Koreans and way, way, cheaper then the made-in-Japan cars..What brand of car do you own?

Despite your selection of other branded TV, still your rank among one of my favourites there in Argentina, so no hard feeling. He,He,He
Perhaps will get to watch your TV there soon enough, who knows, even be your neighbour !
