ATM withdraw limits

Again, Auntieapple....I think you're great! It seems to me that henryb would take the opposite position on anything just to be different. Whatever..This is an expatriate group site which I mistakenly(?) thought that it was an outlet for foreigners to air their grievances and not be confrontational with each other. I can get enough confrontations and confusion on a daily basis with the locals. Simply put....I have lived in Italy and Germany for many years and travelled throughout the world and I have never experienced the kind of b******t like I have experienced here. This will always be a third world country due to the lack of common sense, morality, ineptness and foresight among the Argentines. How many times has anyone called someone to do work or other business and you never receive a call back or workers simply don't show up? This common behavior is nor is there any sense of obligation, customer satisfaction or responsibility and as Auntieapple stated, NO ONE ever complains or holds others accountable. Its such a passive society. How many other places let former dictators and corrupt politicians off the hook?
My prediction is there will be a big crisis next year AGAIN and most Argentines I know agree. Argentina is rapidly going the way of Venezuela...

THE relation is that currently with Chavez in power, the government there, completely under his control, is nationalizing everything and a strong shift towards a Socialist Dictatorship is occuring. He has monopolized support throughout Latin America and if you follow politics in this region, the majority of politicians are leftist socialists. The Venezuelan economy is only fueled by oil other than that there are shortages of everything and he is taking the wealth and distributing it to the poorer classes where his support is centered. Argentina has aligned itself with him, particularly Kirtchner and is becoming increasingly hostile towards the U.S. in particular. The crisis here will be an economic collapse in a similar way...the poor versus the wealthy, although perhaps with not the same ferociousness as in Venezuela.

First Kirchner will soon enough back away from Chavez especially if Chavez goes along with the naturalisation of Techint. You just can´t sleep with the devil(bonosur, financial help for the Diarry-products) and not getting screwed(naturalisation of Techint, relations to Iran, despite of the bombing of AMIA)

Second I would also not refer to Kirchner as a leftist Socialist

I thought this thread was about ATM charges and limits. In my limited time in BsAs they have driven me wild, but I still love the place and want to live here. Call a plumber in the UK and out of fifty if one arrives you are lucky. If you live in Wales and speak welsh you will pay half of what a saesneg pays.
So come on lets stick to the point and try and sort the banking out, and just accept it does not matter what country you live in, if you are an outsider, that is what you will always be.

Argentinians in the main respect and treat foreigners well and while there is price gouging and two tiered pricing systems this is common in many societies .
I have in my time here encountered many honest people who charge normal prices have been reliable and arrived at the allocated times .
Yes it is diffficult being a expatriate everywhere and with time as you learn the language and become one with the society things will become easier

Greg,I'm having the same problem. My limit is $300 or $350 pesos depending on the ATM. I tried to do a cash advance transaction inside the bank and was told that $350 is my limit for that as well. My bank back home says nothing has changed and are stumped as to why I can't withdraw my full limit. I'm starting to worry that I can't make CC purchases over $300 now either. I have tried Link, Banelco, Cirrus in a variety of banks and ATMS and have had no luck. Please let me know if you find a way to withdraw more cash at once because this is going to suck big time if I have to go to the ATM every day just to get enough money for my upcoming vacation.Regards
