Where starts the male prostitution, where does it end...

I'd rather be dead before. (I'm talkin about her bank account)

God you 're evil.

You & Joe.

Total bollocks! ha ha

So many college girls who want to have a iphone, Samsung galaxy 3 or travel to punta del este in summers..no one is putting a gun on their head. they just want a easy way and fast way to make money and mostly they work independently and have a right to decline clients.

That might be your experience, but statistics show that in Argentina, most women in this country who do prositution are trapped in something they would like to not be in. And even if that's been your experience, that doesn't mean in the future that those ladies will be allowed to work independently. There are quite a few women who start much like that, and end up with no way out. It might seem like fun on your part, but in these kinds of things someone always ends up getting crushed or hurt. Do not turn a blind eye.

This argument does not work because there is nothing inherently evil in producing clothing, but in the case of prostitution, someone's body and humanity is getting take advantage of, even if it is their will. The children in Asia might be happy that they have a job that gives them food to eat, but they are still being taken advantage of. One lie that we are told by western culture is that sex is the most important thing, but it is meaningless. The truth is that sex is neither the most important thing in life, and neither is it meaningless. Prostitution damages a person psychologically and in a broad fashion ultimately leads to injustices in the long run. It always has, always will. There's no reason to assume producing clothing will lead to a social injustice.

It seems to me that if you work your body and/or mind is being taken advantage of. I don't know what it means to take advantage of someone's humanity. Isn't humanity often just offered. Is it humanity if you are paid for it? But also I'd say that doctors and nurses and other hands on medical care givers do humane things in exchange for money.

"Inherently evil" is such strong language. People have sex all of the time with no, explicit, payment. But introduce cash and suddenly it's "evil"? Worse "inherently evil"? Someone gives me something and that's nice. But someone sells me something and that's evil?

And "Prostitution damages a person psychologically and in a broad fashion ultimately leads to injustices in the long run. It always has, always will." ... That's a sweeping generalization which you have to support with facts and logic if you are going to persuade me.

Tex, I'm sure that you and I agree on many more things than we disagree on. However, growing up in TX/NM/OK I've experienced first hand the hypocracy of so-called Christians, especially when it comes to prohibitions of certain human behaviors. Unfortunately, I can't just chalk it up as "agreeing to disagree." In the US it results in HORRIBLE policy decisions. Making prostitution illegal, like the prohibition of marijuana, makes criminals out of people who participate in certain behaviors, yet those behaviors inevitably continue underground which makes them much more dangerous to the people participating in them.

...

Another way to look at this is considering our ever-increasing departure from the US constitution. If the government was not allowed to overstep its limited powers, Tex's ideas would just be his personal outlook on life and we would not feel so inclined to jump down his throat.

In this thread I do see a kind of witch-hunt mentality happening toward Tex, much as it often happens to Matias and others on the forum who bring non-mainstream ideas. Diversity of ideas should be welcomed. I totally disagree with most of what he's saying on this subject, but he is in the right being offended at all the stereotyping going on here - that he is a right wing, moral right, moral majority, gun toting republican. I get this same feeling when everyone jumps on Matias - why wouldn't we be glad to have a chance to at least understand the opposing view? Knowledge is power if we really want change right? Why not debate these points with a bit of civility and respect?

Tex makes a good point about division. I've head these "issues" (abortion, prostitution, ect) described as "wedge issues". Those who would like to keep our nose to the grindstone while they sack the wealth and power of the middle class are laughing all the way to the bank while we toil arguing about subjective issues that are essentially unsolvable instead of practical matters that affect our lives.

Some girls are coming over to my place for a drink ( and perhaps more) tonight!
