Building A Living Quarter In Argentina

Where about the famous black-outs.? If there are often power outage, then perhaps better for me to acquire a Toyota hybrid vehicle
there or just import one along my home belongings in order to live in Argentina comfortably. My Prius produce 65 kw of power per hour, it will be sufficient to grid it to run anything in the house.

In 2013, the average annual electricity consumption for a U.S. residential utility customer was 10,837 kWh, an average of 903 kilowatthours (kWh) per month. Louisiana had the highest annual consumption at 15,046 kWh and Maine the lowest at 6,367 kWh.
So it looks that I onlyneeding

For any of you looking to buy a quinta under 100k let me know, there are plenty to choose from in Chivilcoy, some with power right to your gate ,others without power and further out but way cheaper

Do you know if any of the "quintas" in Chivilcoy that are priced less than $100,000 USD and already have homes and outbuildings built on them?

HA indicated that he is looking for an hectare that he can buy and build a home on for $100,000. I know from experience that a house alone is not enough. Additional space for storage of tools and supplies is essential.

This made me think of a quinta near Chivilcoy that I found on the ReMax website as well as zoneaprop. I didn't post a link to it because it was well over $100,000, but I'll post it now so that HA can see that there are high end properties in the area.

Here's a quinta on 4000 meters sq. for $100,000 USD. It is located near General Rodríguez and is much closer to CF:

As always, safety is a major concern when considering moving to el campo...especially for a foreigner who might be regarded as an easy target.

Quite the difference! I never could see how people could buy without first seeing the properties and the surrounding areas too. I know some people from Europe and here buy properties in the USA sight unseen - yet in my years i had to see it first before putting cash on the line. I think Steve gave good examples for this HA to consider before asking more questions - the time has come to kick the tires to see if they are full of air -- not just Hot Air !! truly my humble opinion.

Here is another quinta in Del Viso near the $100K target (on 2500 metes sq.):

In 2010 I found the casa quinta where I am now living on the ReMax website. I told the ReMax agent I knew in CF that if the photos and description were accurate that I would buy the property.

After he checked with the agent that had the listing we flew to Bahia Blanca to see it. I signed a two month "reserva" contingent on the sale of my apartment in CF.

After I moved here I discovered that the location was "better" and "safer" than I ever imagined and the people were far more welcoming than I ever expected.

Here is a quinta (priced at $100K USD) with a house and galpon (outbuilding) on 2 hectares under cultivation that is 2 km from Batan, 35 km from Mar De Plata:

In order to find a good deal one must be flexible, some people mentioned a self sustainable farm or off the grid scenario
I would imagine that who ever Is considering a life style of that nature must know and understand what it means
Properties can be found in Chivilcoy for way under 100k dollars, most of them off the grid with rural dirt roads in less than fair shape
Also I found out that if you are willing to spend some money, city hall is more than happy to help out with the heavy machinery to better the roads
As far as security,I would feel more secure and safe out in the boonies than living in De viso or General Rodrguez ,but that is a personal choice.
To me investing 20k pesos in road improvement is a good deal since saves me from having to own a 4x4 worth 250k pesos
Most prop off the grid are vacant land or might have an old abandoned house, most of them will have some form of wooded area or shade
I hope this helped some what

steveinbsas-san. Much appreciate your diligent inquiry in behalf of my person. I looked at this property and even showing a barn of metal fabrication ? I quite like the look of this property. I also like the rectangular shape of dining area.! I have to have an audio visual room with at least 15 feet of depth of field fo vision of my 70" + 85" HD flat panels in order for me to watch my recorded programs. Also liking
the vast dirt available.! Now how far is this place from the capital federal? Also, do I need a cedula or at least having a residencia temporal to acquire a property there in gran Argentina ?

BUT at U$S 480.000 ! Ouch, didn't wanting go this high! More like wanting to budget around with ceiling of US$150k

Also would like to find a video link describing the facet of a house building process and what kind of construction materials are used to building a detached house in the suburbs. Are the method similar to here in Nor-Cal bay area?

I had an audio~visual room added and followed its construction methdology: First the subjected land is excaveted least a few feet then
cemented for base foundation. Then a short wall is built around to lace the base to erect the wooden strucure, a box like scheleton, then comes the roof and so on...The insulation glass fibre materia on the walls and the ceiling, then the double vane glassed wndows etc.etc.

Also seen the H/V A/C duct being extended into the added room, very interesting to watch new room being built !
