Building A Living Quarter In Argentina

Why is HA looking for properties to buy without ever visiting Argentina? He doesn't even know if he is going to like Fugazzeta or Fernet.

I would suggest a boycott on HA's housing advice until he comes here and spends at least a month before contemplating buying a ranch.

After a month of no sushi, tonkatsu nor soba, he will return to the Bay Area faster than green grass through a goose.

Hey Joe-San .
Remember that Iam opening my own Tonkatsu,Sushi,Tempura place!
So many advice is called for! Mind your Polls only,no need to impose!

Hey all

Steve has done his homework --- why is it this HA character has not taken the time to do his homework? Something is amiss here! In my opinion he is using the forum for his personal use without regard to others here

Even if HA has never visited Argentina there is nothing wrong with asking for information about property here. What I "discovered" on line about real estate prior to my first visit was a major factor in the decision to change my destination from Paris to Buenos Aires in May of 2006.

If HA wants to retire in the country that's one thing, but if he wants to open up a sushi joint in BA there is no reason for him to look for semi-rural or even suburban property at this point. I see he got very excited this afternoon about the prospect of renting an apartment in Palermo for $500 per month.

Coming to BA for a visit and renting an apartment for a month is the best advice I have to offer HA now. I suggest that he spend those first 30 days looking for potential locations for his sushi joint and finding out if the essential ingredients are available and then spend his nights patronizing all of the sushi joints in BA in order to know what his future competitors already have to offer.

If he actually goes ahead and opens a restaurant in the city, I also suggest that he find a place to live withing walking distance of his establishment and forget about getting his hands in the soil for a while. That being said, I am going to start a new thread about rural living and his continued interest and questions will be welcome there.

So, the collectivist French frightened him off. Wouldn't want to be oppressed by universal health care and other socialist savagery, after all...

@splaying , Iam not asking you. Im talkig to seveinbsas. So please do not interfere. If you see no use to you just don't read. Icouldn't visit AR the las time 'case had to take a friend back to his country from Osorno~Valivia when was ready to cross over to Bariloche then to Bs As when the tragedy to my friend struck.

And many thanks to others in here for their contribution, will do Sushi on me when getting there for sure.!

Why not consider Ecuador? It's much less expensive to buy a house there. If you buy a house here, you have to bring in the money and I'm don't know how that works, but I betting dollars to donuts you get ripped off big on that transaction.

Steveinbsas, Many accolades to your writing below:

The lure of opening a Japanese styled eatery is there, but if I can invest that money perhaps instead and still live in the "campo" without
the headache I concur ....I like the trees, the smell of nature, and play in the dirt too !
