Not at all, every citizen has the right to protest in this great country. But I just find it funny the way they do it. I doubt the do not have anything to put in their pots and pans.

So its the way they are protesting now you don't like?

Do you have evidence any evidence to say this government is corrupt or want more power? Or you just read it on Clarin?

I'm not a K, I just know how to appreciate what this government have done for me, my family, my friends and every person who lost everything in the beginning of this century and now have the possibility to work, and earn a decent living. Have you lived in this country during the 90's and 80's? Did you try to find work during that period mentioned before?

Pans and pots, they are trying to mislead the protest, like if they do not have anything to put on their pans... and what the majority wants is to buy dollars at any cost (well, they can buy it at the blue rate) even if that mean's to make a mess of the whole economy and leave the more vunerable, even more vunerable.

I am interested in your detailed views... seriously. I am not trying to mock you but trying to understand the basis of your opinions and conviction. It is always good to see both sides of the coin before coming to a conclusion.

Why do you think that they are doing a good job?
Could it be better?
Is there corruption or what is your perception of corruption
Is Argentina in better shape than Uruguay or Chile?
Or put it in another way, do you think one can have a better future in Uruguay or Chile.
Why are people disagreeing with you?
How old are you? Born in 1984?
Have you lived and worked abroad?

Thanks in advance for your answers. I think they require more effort than one-liners but I believe it would improve understanding among ourselves.

Thats strange at the last demo I didn't see any banners saying they wanted Dollars, more like insecurity, no re-re-reelection etc. No one is saying they don't have anything to eat either, the pot banning is just a way of grabbing attention now.

I wish people would stop blaming others for the economy here. It lies directly at the foot of the Ks not some evil conspiracy by foreigners/middle class to buy/sell dollars.

We all appreciate how Argentina has improved since 2001 but to be honest it was such a low starting point any improvement would have looked great.

You might want to do a bit of research about the Ks and their seedy past. Plus how a lot of patagonia is being sold of to mining companies that are posioning the local population.

From an economics perspective it's not a good thing to have dual currencies in a country's economy. Among other things, it makes fiscal management very difficult for the governing power. However, your point that the protest being only about buying Dollars makes you sound like you have no clue about what is really going on. In fact, I don't know anyone who is protesting because they can't buy Dollars. Dollars are certainly easy to come by in Argentina. Just ask Cristina.

If you'd like to really know why people are protesting then let's ask them here. For those planning to protest on Thursday what are your specific reasons?

I'll start.

1. There is very limited separation of government powers - and therefore counterbalance - in Argentina which allows the President to rule by decree.
2. Widespread and systemic corruption.
3. Duplicity of Leadership - for example government leaders who insist that Argentines stop saving in Dollars and then save their own money in Dollars. Government leaders who insist that Argentina stop thinking in Dollars and yet have substantial businesses that accept only Dollars for products and services.
4. Personal Vendettas against those who speak out - Examples, immediate AFIP inspections for dissenters against the K regime. Even CFK did this against the owner of a real estate company last Summer in a public tv appearance. She said his name and then said, "Oh I wasn't supposed to say his name. Oh well, that's not important." see #5.
5. Limited respect for The Rule of Law. The law is not applied evenly to all citizens. If you are a member of the K regime you can expect preferential treatment.
6. Constantly decreasing security.
