Computer Repair Help Needed - Where To Go?

depending on how a portable is used, I find that using a full size usb keyboard on top of the keyboard helps preventing these situations and is more comfortable to use. Removes the sexiness from any laptop, but that's usually the outcome when trying to fix a bad design.

Stay dry.

COMPUTER UPDATE
I'm progressing through this, I had to evaluate if the keyboard can be fixed & restored rather than have to wait for parts. I believe it's possible to fix. It's just a bit tedious as you have to totally disassemble the keyboard , all the keys have to be pulled off one by one.

Also the motherboard & the body of the laptop needs cleaning. The screen is going to be ok, no damage there.
As mentioned in the text message, the total cost of repairs would be XXXX - including 3 months warranty on work done. I believe we can fix the keyboard rather than order in a new one, this could be much faster.

your hard drive and data, the disk appears to be healthy and nothing appears damaged. I just can't get to boot it up at this time as it's window 8 and it won't allow me to access the files right away, in any case, I'll make a temporary back up copy of the drive to be extra secure. We can later transfer onto one of your own backup drives.

I believe that by Monday lunchtime we will be certain, (IF CAN BE FIXED WITHOUT NEEDING NEW PARTS)

My god this forum can be absolutely ludicrous. My laptop (PC) crashed and is in a seemingly infinite Startup Repair mode. I log on here from my tablet to look for advice and there's this thread with it's ridiculous 6 pages of Ayn Rand crap and three or four actually useful responses.

I've had two different problems with two different laptops (both pcs) within the past six months. I found Ricardo through this forum (not to imply that your comment about above is not valid ;) ), and had good experience with him getting the job done reliably, efficiently, and reasonably priced both times. He's fluent an English by the way. Contact info is found at his site: http://www.balaptop.com/

Your support person can over the phone guide you . Sorry I'm no PC expert, I can indicate what I was asked to do over the phone by Dell Support online. Turn off somehow the PC, a crash dump, or do several Ctrl-Alt-Del ? Then introduce the Operating System disk in the CD slot . Start the computer from there and reload all the OS files, To recover damaged files

Sorry if this is too elementary.... Only want to help.!!!
