Computer Repair Help Needed - Where To Go?

It's relevant in every thread on the forums, that's the problem.

Yes, there is a problem:

I would like to be able to post in any thread (on any subject) I chose without irrelevant and/or insulting comments being made about me, a book I read when I was seventeen, or the author of that book, but that is something which I cannot control as the individual making the comments appears to be incapable of controlling himself.

Some say I have taken the bait. I have chosen to respond to some of those posts but haven't resorted to retuning the insults or innuendos.

I have yet to read even one post which presents a well reasoned response to anything Ayn Rand ever wrote.

PS: A movie review does not constitute an argument; neither does a link to a dozen quotes pulled out of context from a twelve hundred page novel.

I must say I agree with Tom on what he has said to this group. In the morning when I posted my problem one individual stepped forward immediately with whom I should contact to take care of my problem. A couple of others gave good suggestions. After that period of time it was a bunch of the same on line people bickering back and forth over items which had nothing to do with the forum question I needed assistance with today. It is my belief too if you need to discuss other items even if somewhat relevant to the forum you either start a new forum or you PM to each other without the rest of us being subjected to your ideas and often times foul language too. It is totally unacceptable. Another point... none of you who bicker back and forth ever take the time to show who you are but hide behind some false face. If truly you live in a society and wish to comment then you should be willing to let others know what you look like so if I was to meet you on the street I could say hello to you. Certainly you know Tom and myself. Why not come out of hiding?

could just the data be recovered and forget the machine?
Unless the liquid leaked into the hard drive. You can take the hard drive out and put it into an enclosure to retrieve the data - or pay the repair man to do it. Even if everything got wet. If you wait until it dries out, then there's a good chance it will work.

I dropped a MP3 player into the ocean in Mar del Plata and it work for years after that. I had to wait until it dried out before turning it on. And salt water is especially bad.

It's hard to respond to utter incoherence. Harry Potter or its comparables should not be a guide to life or politics.
