Vaccines: the Gov't rushes the signing of contracts with laboratories in the US to unlock donations. President Alberto Fernández met with Cecilia Nicolini and Carla Vizzotti to finish defining the key points of the agreements. Yesterday Máximo Kirchner questioned the decision. To the surprise of his own and opponents, yesterday the leader of the ruling party in the Chamber of Deputies, Máximo Kirchner, harshly questioned the decision of the Executive Power to sign a decree that enables these contracts, noting that he does not want "a country that has to give in to the whims" of foreign companies. However, the national authorities trust that the agreement would be ready by next Monday. “We have to have more self-esteem as a country, or are we always going to seek validation outside and not in our own experience? When we do not listen to our own experience as a people, we always end up being toys of the circumstances,” said the leader of the Frente de Todos block during the legislative session.
The truth is that there are still certain details to be defined and the negotiations between both parties could be delayed for a few days, also taking into account that this Friday, July 9, is a holiday in the country. However, the Gov't will make all the necessary efforts to avoid any delay in the talks and thus comply with the deadline that Cafiero anticipated when presenting his report on the direction of the administration in the Chamber of Deputies....
