Covid Vaccination Argentina

Vaccines: the Gov't rushes the signing of contracts with laboratories in the US to unlock donations. President Alberto Fernández met with Cecilia Nicolini and Carla Vizzotti to finish defining the key points of the agreements. Yesterday Máximo Kirchner questioned the decision. Meanwhile, Ambassador Jorge Argüello awaits positive signals to request the doses from the North American authorities....

....The intention generated internal criticism. To the surprise of his own and opponents, yesterday the leader of the ruling party in the Chamber of Deputies, Máximo Kirchner, harshly questioned the decision of the Executive Power to sign a decree that enables these contracts, noting that he does not want "a country that has to give in to the whims" of foreign companies. However, the national authorities trust that the agreement would be ready by next Monday. “We have to have more self-esteem as a country, or are we always going to seek validation outside and not in our own experience? When we do not listen to our own experience as a people, we always end up being toys of the circumstances,” said the leader of the Frente de Todos block during the legislative session.

The truth is that there are still certain details to be defined and the negotiations between both parties could be delayed for a few days, also taking into account that this Friday, July 9, is a holiday in the country. However, the Gov't will make all the necessary efforts to avoid any delay in the talks and thus comply with the deadline that Cafiero anticipated when presenting his report on the direction of the administration in the Chamber of Deputies....

Oh that video of Maximo talking... As if delusion somehow saves lives... He might as well be preaching the ideology of juche back in 1953.

Let’s revisit his comments in 6-8 weeks should Delta variant start to run wild here now that there is already community transmission in São Paulo.

I got vaccinated without issues today just with my passport (here on a tourist visa since last March).

They didn't ask for any other documents and everything went without issue, very impressive process they have at Luna Park.

It was Sinopharm today, probably serves me right for talking bad about the Chinese government with my Japanese English students..

Don't worry about it: once the Xi Jinping microchip has lodged in your brain you'll only be able to say nice things about the Chinese.

Why are you all looking at me like that? It was a joke, godammit, A JOKE!

I have been following this thread. Antipodean does clearly not write that Pfizer requested military bases as collateral.

And do you really think that countries like:
  • Canada
  • Chile
  • France
  • Germany
  • Israel
  • Switzerland
  • United Kingdom
  • United States
have given Pfizer their military bases as collateral. No way!

No, the claim, confirmed by multiple sources is that they demanded this of Brazil, South Africa, Argentina, and a number of other unnamed countries. No one said they demanded it of every country.

Your offhanded discounting of reputable investigative journalism means nothing aside from the fact that it's inconvenient for your political ideology. Alternative facts. You will always find a way for whatever you want to be 'true' to you.

Coronavirus vaccines: according to Russia, there may be up to 6 months interval between the two doses of Sputnik V. The Russian Fund for Direct Investment made the comments amid delays in the delivery of the second component.

MOSCOW (Reuters) .- While the second component of Sputnik V remains delayed, especially for foreign demand -such as Argentina-, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), which is responsible for marketing abroad, stated today that the interval between the two doses can be extended up to 180 days and will remain effective....Alexander Gintsburg, director of the Gamaleya Institute that developed the vaccine, said in April that the gap between injections could be increased to 90 days.

More immunity?
The RDIF official cited Gamaleya's trials showing that longer gaps had ensured a better immune response, but did not elaborate on the trials. The official released the statement after a request for comment from Reuters, denied it was in any way related to the delays in Russian deliveries of Sputnik V....

The Gov't will buy 20 million Moderna vaccines and opens the door to donation from the US. After modifying the acquisition law by decree, Health announced a contract with a delivery period in 2022. But this also enables the arrival of several million vaccines to be provided by the White House.
....Despite how distant the year to come may be, and as this newspaper had already said, the signing of this contract will allow ARG to receive doses of Moderna donated by the US in the coming weeks, as part of a program by Democrat Joe Biden, aimed at speeding up the immunization of countries with weak health conditions. This Sunday, and after the advance made by the Chief of Staff, Santiago Cafiero, the Ministry of Health detailed that the signed agreement will allow having "20 million doses of the Moderna vaccine" or "equivalent doses of the vaccine for its administration, as reinforcement "....

Two great groups of people...government officials from Brazil and Argentina and pharmaceutical executives.

I wouldn't believe anything out of the mouth of any of them.

Vaccines: Argentina will exceed 30 million doses received against Covid-19. This Monday, July 12, a first flight arrived with 733 thousand AstraZeneca vaccines. The two remaining planes will land during the afternoon with 768 thousand doses of Sinopharm and 550 thousand of component 2 of Sputnik V....
