The definition of hero has become diluted from what many remember it to be.
'Have a go hero rescues family from crazy axe murderer' isn't the same as 'Tech wizard exposes government spying.'
But it is the same to some in that Snowden has put himself in limbo 'for the sake of freedom'.
The question is: Did Snowden willingly put himself in a fugitive position for the sake of the rest of us?

Corbett, my favorite independent investigative journalist has some questions about the documents, agenda, motives, etc, nothing conclusive. It's a very obscure topic.

Once again, Snowden's dastardly opponents prevent him from speaking to US audiences:

This interview get's taken down from Youtube and blocked - so if you are in the US you might not be able to see it:

What an articulate, courageous young man.

Just watched it from San Diego, California. Whoa, you're right. Snowden is very articulate. As far as courageous, stipulated. Anyone who's got the stones to throw down with the Feds is definitely braver than I am. Heh, then again you'd never catch me volunteering for SF either. Snake eaters, brrrrrrrr!

I guess he is a hero by todays milk toast dictionary. But then so is Evil Kenevil and any number of people who do grand stunts for public recognition. NSA is no saint but Snowjob doesn't merit hero status. If he was covering your back you would be shot dead and he would be explaining it from the sanctuary of the enemy. Heros don't hide in Russia.

It's easy from the comfort of your armchair to criticize someone that risks rendition, waterboarding and the other forms of officially sanctioned torture. Mr. Snowden took an oath to defend the US Constitution. He exposed the traitors in the US government trampling on the Constitution.

Any one that puts their life at risk to defend the US Constitution against those that use it as toilet paper (viz. NSA) is a hero.

As far as I can see Mr. Snowden is the only one defending the Constitution.

Heros don't hide in Russia.

The fact that he has to "hide" in Russia a testament to just how corrupt and dangerous the US govt. has become. Nobody is safe. With the passage of the NDAA(National Defense Authorization Act), the govt. can, at its own discretion, "neutralize" i.e. kill any American citizen at any time without the due process of law. And don't think they wouldn't make an example out of Snowden. I don't think people realize just how grave and dire the situation is in the US. It is officially a Police State. Everything you do online and via your cell phone is recorded and being stored indefinitely - everything. The police departments across the country have become militarized, with almost every department having an elite SWAT team. The policemen look more like soldiers than "peace officers".

READ the article below where the FBI investigated itself and found itself faultless in 150 out of 150 shootings the past 20 years, a statistic which is simply impossible.

For those not familiar with the killing of Ibragim Todashev, take a look at the links below. He was basically a friend of the supposed Boston Bomber who was killed by the FBI under very strange circumstances.

No way he has allot of help defending the constitution, John McCain, Sarah Palin, Fox News, the KKK and the list of defenders goes on for pages. He's a third rate selfie looking for 15 minutes of fame.
