Politically Correctness And Racism In Argentina

Well, it wasn't my intention to be brutal. I was, however, trying to put a bit of perspective on things.

I do want to make it clear, and maybe I wasn't - I'm not saying what I've experienced is the majority of Porteños.

No, no, my bad. I meant that the racism you describe having experienced, directed at your wife and sisters in law, that was brutal.

I am perfectly OK with your post :)

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority,
and rapidly promoted by mainstream media, which
holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a
piece of Shit by the clean end.'

This image is from a Coka Cola commercial that was produced in Argentina at the time of the Beijing olympics. They were unable to find any Asian actors so they asked the Argentine actors to stand in as Chinese.

However, there was no shortage of Chinese in California to play Charlie Chan. This is where you should direct your protest!

Truth, like football – receive many kicks before reaching goal.

Remember the upstairs Asian neighbor in Breakfast at Tiffanys?

Racism towards Asians are seen in every corners of the world. Even in those Apartheid's days in south africa and from the black people too towards Asians. I was there and seen them all making remarks towards any Asians living or passing by.

My Argentinean friends always calls me " Oye Ponja " ! And sz things like.....

Cuando volves a sur america, pasad por aqui y te rompemos el culo !

Well said.

IMO PC in Canada and the US has morphed into a religion - a system of beliefs that has no basis in reality but provides comfort to the believers.
Yup. That's what humans do. Formulate belief systems and recruit followers (force if necessary).

I think it's actually an evolved trait that enabled humans to survive and thrive. Has some serious downsides in the age of high tech mass destruction though that it didn't in the time of sticks and stones.

Hope we evolve beyond it....or we're finished.
