I'm giving this thread a bump because I
think that the history of the income requirements for the visa rentista is interesting and it explans why the $2000 per month figure was often cited in the past (since 2010), even though the actual amount has always been specified in pesos, not dollars and also because I made several posts regarding how I used evidence of the funds generated by a trust to qualify for the visa rentista in 2006.

After reading posts on the subject in the past few days, I have developed a new stratagy to use an "irrevocable trust" which does not entail paying a lawyer to create the trust docs or paying a financial institution to administer the funds.

I'll explain what I think migraciones will accept in a new thread.
