Ahh, that was a great game! I swigged down two pints of some good porter on draft at 2 for 1 prices, munched my way through a giant platter of veggies, had a great time, and laughed, cheered, groaned, gasped along with the staff of the restaurant, since I was the only customer.

Unlike you i can quite enjoy football. I am getting more and more tired of your dull comments about the sport though. If it were really as boring as you say it is, you and football would be made for eachother.

Depends on what you mean by "understand." I know all the rules and much of the strategy. But I can only barely understand the lifetime of frustration it can cause. I have an English friend who gets annoyed when I say I am supporting Argentina, France, and Mexico. For him the WC is about England and only England .... and when they lose, it's the end of the world and also the beginning of the next cycle of frustration, always until you die. Whereas for me, I won't even think about it for 4 more years. That said, I think I probably have more fun watching the WC than he does (unless England wins, of course).

Edit: That doesn't mean I don't get frustrated when Argentina plays badly.
