Very Good Article - Democracy & Peronism For Beginners

This is the way Argentines think: Peronism is not great, but what are the alternatives? Every time someone gets into power that is not Peronist, disaster strikes. Etc. Etc.

That is the perspective of a lot of Argentines. So for them, the Peronists at least bring some sort of order to the system. In some ways, I guess that's true.

But what is needed is a strong handed group of people that are honest, that can implement sound policies that will benefit people in the long term, all while pushing back hard against corruption and Peronism. Too bad no such candidate exists, and also it's too bad voters would not be informed enough to vote for someone like that.

Because there is a narrow spectrum of political vision and education. Graduates from the best public university are unable to envisage or investigate anything beyond neo-liberalism as an alternative. A bogeyman has been created which will not be easily deconstructed.

Correctly the author of the article identifies the trap of Peronism; wealth and success, no matter how moderate and distributed, is an enemy of the people and the model. The only people who exist outside of this exacting criteria are of course the leaders of the day.

Do you guys ask to yourselves why is it that Peronism is so popular? or you just think the majority of the society is blind, sick, or just dont know a squat of politics and what is good for them?
Fascism was very popular in Italy 1925 to 1941. Do you think the majority of the Italian society wass blind, sick, or just didn't know a squat of politics and what is good for them?

Communism was very popular in the Soviet Union 1919 to 1972. Do you think the majority of the Russian society wass blind, sick, or just didn't know a squat of politics and what is good for them?

Nationalsocialism was very popular in Germany 1933 to 1943. Do you think the majority of the German society wass blind, sick, or just didn't know a squat of politics and what is good for them?

Do you think Matiasba is able to drop the automatically generated answers and start thinking own thoughts?

Besides, I know this goes contrary to the strongly held beliefs and screws with the worship of Peron but if you hate the "militars" so much how the heck do you think Peron got such titles as "Colonel"?
Yep, Perón came into power as a result of the 1943 Argentine military coup d'état.

I believe that people can be wrong one time, twice, three times, but not so much for more than half a century renewing benchs in every election. We are talking of democracy, people could vote for Hitler, but not lasted too muuc, it would have been difficult for nazism I think, to renew its power every two years or the time you want. The first electiones peronism lost were in 1983, and because of demagogic mistakes of its leader. Then, if there were elections under the 20 years of prohibition, it would have won it.

So, to sum up, peronism is popular, and won every time under democracy, and now its still winning, and will win.

So yes, to you, people who vote for peronism are all wrong and dont have a clue of politics, in 1945, in the 60s, in the 70s, in the 80s, in the 90s, 2000s, and 2010s. isnt it a lot of time being all these majorities wrong?

No, it must be that the rest of the world is wrong for not imitating this fabulous model for wealth creation.

Yep, Perón came into power as a result of the 1943 Argentine military coup d'état.

it was an internal coup d etat, to an antidemocratical and unconstitutional government. It wasnt to an elected goverment, it wasnt to democracy. But thaat didnt give Peron the presidency, it were clean democratical elections to gave him the power in his first government.
So he participated in a coup d etat to a military government, and then by democracy got elected to the presidency.
