Another Mass Shooting In The Us...

Obviously there isn't strict gun control in Argentina because like everything else there, the system doesn't work.

There is very strict gun control in Argentina and it works very well. It is illegal to buy a gun or ammo without a Federal permit.

Many things (including parts of the system) in Argentina work quite well, but how could you possibly know the difference if you don't live here?

This conversation has totally drifted from the topic: the mass shooting in Orlando by a radical Muslim security guard who obtained guns legally. Seems to me that he was very conflicted -- he frequented a gay bar, was active on gay websites but also married with a child. Looks as though he could not cope with his psycho-sexual issues, especially being a Muslim (Sharia law calls for the death penalty for homosexual acts). It's very likely that he went to radical Islamic websites to find inspiration and got it.

What I can't understand is why it took the police three full hours to send in a SWAT team.

People's indidivudal rights to keep a gun in their house is more important than preventing insane people who legally obtain guns from shooting a crowd? Give up your guns. Prevent violence.

Law-abiding citizens' giving up their firearms will absolutely not prevent violence, in any form.

If criminals want firearms, they will get them, period. This has been demonstrated in Australia - the place that the "ban the guns" crowd likes to hold up as an example.

Carrying a gun won't stop violence either. The most recent shootings weren't carried out by criminals, but people who legally obtained guns.
