Not into the house but they were in the barn - we live upstairs. Really scary. We know that it is an ex-employee as he knew where things were kept, knew where the cameras were and the dogs didn't go nuts which means that they recognized him. We are pretty sure who it is but we can't prove it. Luckily post arrival of the rottie, hasn't happened again but I am a lot more cautious these days.

It is kind of wierd but you ALWAYS seem to have problems with the people that "works" for you, the maid blablabla, albaniles blablabla, ex-employess blablabla. Never in my life seen someone that has so many problems with their employess...

Then you haven't lived in Argentina long enough. Citygirl's problems are the norm in Buenos Aires. Why do you think there are so many labor lawyers here? You would have to actually have empoyees to understand what she's going through.

Unfortunately to many Argentinians can only seem to get by with a mix slacking off, stealing and using labor lawyers. Sadly it is just about all they are capable of on an intellecutal level. Which why they make $1000 a month or so most them that is all they are worth. Not all of them but more than not.

I remember one time they actually put the doors in backwards on an extion to the house. I was like hey come here.. The guy walks over.. I ask, what is wrong with this? He says nothing. I said look again. He says its fine.. I said, you put it in backwards! He looks at the door again then looks at me then looks at the looks at the door again... Oh yeah I did put it in backwards. Oh the precious laborers and Peronismo it is like Dumm and Demmerer but not in a movie, real life.

I have a IT company in Microcentro and my parents have a factory in Campana, Buenos Aires, so I know what I am talking about.

2 years on the company, 30 in Argentina, never had an issue.

Maybe you do not know how to deal with people in this country, or you do not pay them enough and think they are slaves, then you will have issue, like everywhere on the globe.

I saw in the local press that Palermo is the neighborhood in Capital where one is most likely to get robbed. La Boca might not be so bad after all.

Well while Palermo is full of foreigners showing off iphones and ipads, at la boca there is a stupid canadian from time to time only...

I was living a year in the US. My former girlfriend had a kiosk at 2 rennaisance festivals. The goal was to find employeds who know to give change. It means that the client pays with 20 and they have to know that they have to give back 3 if the almonds cost 17... No peronist there...
