Beers In Ba

Went to what looked like a brand new bar in Palermo on Honduras called gallaghers. Irish pub - it was a ghost town - no one in there - they had 5 taps!!!! Zeppelin beer
Tried the wheat and the pale ale. Both were unreal especially the pale ale
Happy hour until 10 also
Hope it gets a few punters in

Clearly a newcomer! I made the same mistake when I first came to BA. Nothing gets started until midnight and then the beer prices sky rocket too..

Irish bars made no sense to me in Buenos Aires, they should be about being hermetically sealed away from the elements (normally rain!)..in warm weather countries the just feel wrong.

Yeah I agree - it did feel a bit "faux" I guess the word woul be. (It was so cleeeaaaan!)
They played a bit if rock and roll on the speakers and as said the beer was class. I would say the best I've had in BA.
TV wasn't working yet - handy if they could get some sport going.

I would take this over a sterile-sit-at-your-table-eating-mani-drinking-Stella-from-the-bottle-zzzzzzzz-resto-bar any day or night of the year.

I am waiting eagerly on the first Irish bar in Bs As with Irish bar staff or waiters

I am convinced it would be a winner.

Last time I was in an Irish bar outside of Ireland which made sense was in Krakow. At home a bar is part of the community, much more than a drinking spot. Certain local activities gravitate too or become the focal point of the bar. To me, you have to remove it from that context and make it a reflexion or reminiscence of Ireland. Normally people chuck a load of non associated or irrelevant chintz at the walls, bloody bicycles or whatever other identikit nonsense.

This pub in krakow had a sort of wraparound photo mural of irish cities around all the walls. Surrounded by familiar light, images and colours it sort of worked. Yet it was somehow still polish.

So, in short , if I could figure out how to marry off argentine and irish characteristics in an environment relative to its surroundings, i would go for it. You'd soon get people out advertising at home, beats teaching English.

Of course, i'd have to convince the good lady boss to sell both our apartments and sink the funds into a boozer.

All my thoughts and respects with the victims families in Glasgow, to the emergency services and the people of the city for pulling together in this face of this weekends distressing event. Very real for me as we have a wee branch of the family there.

There is a small bar (the name of which escapes me) near the corner of Arevalo and Gorriti that specialises in South American beers.

Buenos Aries is a great place except it does not have the many quality beers. If you have ever though that, you are in luck, Cima De La Montaña, the newest and most innovative brewing company in Buenos Aires has a large stock of artisanal homemade beer for sale. Flavors include Cerveza De Leche (beer brewed with Dulce De Leche 6.8% ABV) Peek Pale Ale 7% ABV and Cerveza De Gaucho (beer brewed with mate 5.5% ABV) as well as other styles weekly. Contact us for a list of prices, styles, delivery options and to place an order. Cheers.

If you are interested in a sales position please send us a short paragraph on why you would like to sell Cerveza Cima De La Montaña. This is a commission based job. Prost!

Import taxes is the biggest issue. What incentive is there for small pubs and bars when they have to pay out the butt for overtaxed imported beers.

I was just in Tandil, and bought some Quarryman. In Tandil, you can find it for 14 pesos a bottle. Not liters, though.
Its good.

I am guessing a few places carry it in Capital Federal, but it will be more like 25 or 30 pesos a bottle.
