Uber Update?

I don't think the new US Prez is taking the advice of anyone these days except for far-right loonies like Steve Bannon.

So the solution is to remove the normal people from giving advice?

The Uber CEO was in an advisory role. That is good. He has extremely relevant knowledge of the economy. How can that be a bad thing that he is advising the people who make economic policy? Should the BLS stop collecting price data because Trump is a crazy bigot? Face it, this was dumb.

Driving Uber in US in a liberal city is interesting right now. Nothing major but I have indeed experienced angry taxis who lay on their horn and go out of their way to try to make me miss my pick up destinations these last two weeks. It definitely makes me think twice about using the service (as a rider) in Buenos Aires... but I think I am going to give it a try anyway. I arrive next week and will be staying outside of Capital, so using Uber for late night travel would be a plus.

And I echo all the remarks about this whole ordeal with Uber and the current administration being ridiculous.

Well, New York and other cities are issuing and enforcing regulations about hosting with AirBnB and Uber is no less different

Why stay so far, Stramolly green

Stay in the heart of the city!

Haha... friends that are letting me stay with them live in Bernal. It's okay though. I've already done the city thing and have visited almost every barrio inside capital at least a few times. So it doesn't bother me. :)

I think it will actually be a nice change to experience commuting from outside Capital.

Right, Commuting! How did I forget about the #1 benefit of the conurbano!

It's true everyone I know who has moved to the 'burbs tells me what a nice change it is to commute to the city

:) Fantastic! I doubt it will be easy to find an uber out there, but I can still take one from the city home when needed :-D

Hey, speaking of which: in Mexico, the uber drivers were only allowed to drive in certain areas at certain hours and they had to have specific permits. (how do I know this?... because one uber driver waited until after we loaded our suitcases and started going before telling us he couldn't take us into the capital... but that's another story)

Anyone know if something similar applies in Argentina? Just curious :)
