Violent protests in Chile: Will this spread to Argentina?

Guy's a prick. Funny though how you still have some Chilean protesters throwing rocks and trying to film him, completely oblivious to the fact that he will indeed kill them. Like, they're thinking: 'ah, it's some cop or something, trying to show off.' No, my friend, it's a live shooter. We export those now.

John Cobin shooting, waving a gun and holding a Confederate flag:

No intent to defend the behavior of Cobin or his political beliefs... With that said.

If you watch the beginning of the video you will see laughs by youngsters and chantings " El que no baila no pasa" "Who doesn't dance can't get through the blockade) (to get through the blockade you must step out the vehicle and do a simulated Dance). This humiliation is very offensive and has nothing to do with the issues being discussed by the protesters.

Cobin refused to get out of the vehicle and dance..! He drove right through the mob...! and later shoot 4 times , one bullet hit a student.

This practice of El que no baila no pasa is a form of humiliating the well to do. To show their power to dominate and the need of victims to submit. It has become a common practice in all the road Blockades along the routes in Chile.

This form of humiliating the opponents was a common practice by many fascists dictatorial groups , forcing people to kneel or perform acts against their will

The Ex vice President of the Jewish Community de Chile, Shai Agosin, cuestioned this fascist practice from Nazi Germany.
Similar to the Nazi practice in the Movie "The Piano Player", dance to pass..!

A Nazi practice from the Ghetto in Warsaw.

I agree with you. Chile is so nazi that this young protested do not even realize it. However, he has no reason to stop later and shoot them.
Legit defense requieres imminent risk.
I have been in many piquetes all around the country and i passed like him a couple of times but i eas not looking an excuse to shoot like him.

The extent and duration of these protests suggests that there must be some serious underlying social problems in Chile. Or is it just malevolence? If the intent of the dancing bit is to "humiliate the well to do", is there any valid reason for such resentment? And just what reforms do the protesters want? Another question is why Cobin chose to settle in Chile. According to one article he even renounced his US citizenship, What in Chile attracted him and what in the US repulsed him?

The underlying social problems of Chile need to be studied by psychologists or other specialists. .

All the current "experts" in Chile claim it was obvious that Chile was a time bomb. However no one said it before The current "experts " always claimed before that Chile was a model..?

The dancing bit is not perpetrated in the protesters own neighborhoods , the protesters go from lower to high income barrios like Reñaca.
Was it malevolence of the Nazis to humiliate Jews?, or the Bolcheviques against the Zarist nobility? Or the sans-culottes against the French Nobility?

The reason for the protesters resentment is NOT the Constitution de "Pinochet" ( that has had 129 amendments to date, by socialist governments since written in 1980). The main reasons for resentment are not their, Pension system, Incomes , Health or Education systems. which are better that most Mercosur neighbours . No promises of Constitutional amendments for resolution in 2020 will do the trick..!

The Reason is "The rich are too rich" as repeatedly mentioned by protesters , they Have too much..!

As when the French revolted because of the price of Flower and Bread..! Marie Antoinette responded "No bread! Give'm cake"

The Cobin issue as to why he came to Chile , etc. I leave it for the experts..!

Is the the 1% society doomed, where eventually, there exist only billionaires and homeless?

I don't think the 1% is doomed. I was skeptical that we were seeing a coup d'état in Bolivia, but it's becoming more clear that, yes, the 1% have successfully staged a coup d'état in Bolivia. There's a very real possibility of civil war in that country. The alliance between the elite and the military has been the bedrock alliance against the leftists in South America since WW1, and here again we see it reemerging. I'd not be surprised if it also did in Chile if things go too far. Argentina's military has been sidelined for years, so that it's anomalous, and the 1% in Argentina can do business with the Peronists, which unlike in other South American countries, funnel the left vote into state capitalism. Elsewhere, you have Communist/Socialist/Agrarian/Indigenous parties that are significantly less protective of and invested in the interests of the 1%.
